Located on the Curonian Spit between a large lagoon and the Baltic Sea, the town came to prominence during the 1920s as a wealthy summer holiday destination. Many European Expressionist painters came to Nida to capture it's beautiful light and fascinating seascapes, and it remains a lovely and unspoiled place of great charm and natural beauty.

Day 1 Arrival Tallinn
Arrival in Tallinn, transfer to your hotel; check-in, welcome meeting.
Day 2 Tallinn-Cesis: Manor Houses, Tartu University Town & Hanseatic Delights
After breakfast we drive to the Lahemaa National Park, where we visit the Manor Houses in Palmse and Vihula. Continue to Tartu, the university town, where Estonia gained its statehood. We see the charming Old Town and the University founded in 1632. From Tartu we drive onwards into Latvia and Cesis, a Hanseatic city with winding streets, castle ruins and beautiful gardens. Check-in at Hotel Kolonna Cesis or similar. Dinner this evening at the hotel is included.
Day 3 Cesis-Vilnius: Gauja National Park, Sigulda, Castles & Rundale Palace
Today we drive through Gauja National Park to Sigulda, a popular holiday resort and visit the ruins of the Episcopal Castle and the Castle of the Knights of the Sword. Drive around Riga’s outskirts to meet the highway down to Vilnius. En-route we reach magnificent Rundale Palace, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland, for a guided tour. Continue through Lithuania before reaching Vilnius in the late afternoon. Check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Lietuva or similar.
Day 4 Vilnius-Klaipeda: Medieval town &Trakai Castle
Vilnius has more than 1200 medieval buildings and 48 churches. Morning sightseeing includes a panoramic tour of the city and a walking tour of the Old Town with Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, St. Anna’s Church, Old University and the Gates of Dawn. Continue on to Trakai, the medieval capital of Lithuania, for the well-preserved Trakai Castle, beautifully located on an island in Lake Galve. Travel onwards to Klaipeda, for late afternoon arrival and check-in at Hotel National or similar.
Day 5 Klaipeda-Nida: Curonian Spit, Hill of Witches & Nida Resort Arrival
Today we continue to the Curonian Spit, a thin, 100 km stretch of land between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon with small fishing villages, pine forests and endless sand dunes. The first stop is at the Hill of Witches in Juodkrante. After that we continue to Nida where we visit the High Dunes, Thomas Mann’s Summer House and get acquainted with the charming resort town. Check-in at Hotel Nidos Banga or similar.
Day 6 - Day 11 Nida - Paradise on the Curonian Lagoon
Spend this time at leisure in this small paradise, located at the Curonian Lagoon. With a great mix between an old-fashioned fishing village and a highly fashionable sea resort, Nida is one of the most attractive places along the Baltic Sea coastline. You can just relax or find plenty to do - the choice is your own. Activities include bike riding along the spit, hiking in the dunes, boating on the lagoon, swimming in the sea, lying on the sandy beach, playing tennis in the sun, lunching on smoked fish or attending any of the various, summer concerts.
Day 12 Nida-Klaipeda
On your final day here, there is still time to take a swim in the Baltic Sea, stroll through the local village, enjoy views of the Curonian Lagoon, bargain for amber and other souvenirs, or simply relax. In the late afternoon,your coach takes you along the Curonian Spit, then on to Klaipeda. Check-in at Hotel National or similar. This evening, optional Lithuanian dinner at Restaurant 19th Century.
Day 13 Klaipeda-Riga: Memel Old Town, Lake Plateliai & Hill of Crosses
Klaipeda first became a part of Lithuania in 1923 and had a long history as a German town called Memel. A short sightseeing tour visits the Old Town with its narrow, cobbled streets and guild houses, Theatre Square and Aennchen von Tharau Fountain. Then continue to Samogitia National Park, for our walking tour around picturesque Lake Plateliai (2hr hours, medium difficulty). After that it’s on to Siauliai and the magnificent Hill of Crosses, one f the holiest sites of Catholic Lithuania. Heading North into Latvia, we reach Riga in the afternoon. Check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija or similar. This evening enjoy a delightful organ recital at the charming old Dome Cathedral.
Day 14 Riga: Old Town Walking Tour, Jurmala Sea Resort
Riga was founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert and is the largest of the three Baltic capitals. Boasting a true kaleidoscope of various architectural styles, our walking tour of the Old Town includes Riga Castle, Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, Swedish Gates, Three Brothers, Large and Small Guild House and the Freedom Monument. An afternoon trip to Jurmala, a vibrant, Latvian sea resort, famous for it's quirky wooden architecture and sandy beaches. This evening, optional Latvian dinner at the stylish Restaurant Forest.
Day 15 Riga-Tallinn: Parnu Summer Resort, Land of Forests
The tour continues along the coastal highway to the Estonian summer resort of Parnu. After a short tour, we continue through the North Estonian land of forests for an early afternoon arrival in Tallinn. Check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Olympia or similar. Tallinn is a charming blend of medieval tranquillity and modern urban life and the Old Town is a busy place in summer with shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafés and restaurants. Afternoon sightseeing takes us around the medieval city walls and into the Old Town to see Toompea Castle, the Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and medieval Old Town Hall.
Day 16 Tallinn: Farewell
Transfer from the hotel to the airport.
