DAY 1 ARRIVAL ST. PETERSBURG
Arrival in St. Petersburg, transfer to Hotel Sokos Vasilievsky or similar; check-in and welcome meeting.
DAY 2 ST. PETERSBURG: IMPERIAL CITY SIGHTSEEING, CATHERINE'S PALACE & FOLKLORE SHOW
St. Petersburg is an amazing city. Its imperial palaces and museums enjoy worldwide fame, while the Neva River and the many canals have deservedly given the city the title “The Venice of the North”. During the morning sightseeing tour we get acquainted with all the splendours of the city: the Peter-Paul Fortress, the Winter Palace, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Church of the Bleeding Savior, the Nevsky Convent and much more. Afternoon excursion to Zarskoye Selo visits the impressive Catherine’s Palace and the Amber Room, which vanished during World War II and was restored for St. Petersburg’s tri-centennial celebrations. An evening visit to Nikolaevsky Palace has an exciting Russian folklore show, with Russian drinks and snacks.
DAY 3 ST. PETERSBURG: PETERHOF PALACE & HERMITAGE ART MUSEUM
Morning visit to Peterhof, an uncontested masterpiece of the time of Peter the Great, with the impressive Grand Palace, Grand Cascade and Water Avenue and its wonderful parks. Afternoon visit to the world-famous treasure filled Hermitage Art Museum. In the evening enjoy an optional Russian dinner at Restaurant Russian Kitsch.
DAY 4 ST. PETERSBURG-MOSCOW: CANAL CRUISE & FAST TRAIN TO MOSCOW
Early morning guided canal cruise of the cities charming waterways then around noon we go to the Railway Station and board the Sapsan high-speed train bound for Moscow. The train ride takes us through vast Russian landscapes along the River Volga. In the evening, arrive in Moscow and check in at Hotel Park Inn Sadu or similar.
DAY 5 MOSCOW: KREMLIN, CATHEDRALS, METRO & EVENING RIVER CRUISE
Moscow, The Mother of Russia, is a genuine Russian city with the Kremlin and its onion domed cathedrals. The dramatic changes over the last decade have made the city to one of the most dynamic metropolis in the world. The morning sightseeing tour includes all the highlights of the vast city: the Red Square with St Basil's Cathedral, the Theatre Square with Bolshoi Theatre, Sparrow Hills with Moscow University and visit the Kremlin grounds including one of the cathedrals. In the afternoon visit the famous Moscow Metro including the historical stations along the Ring Line, followed by a guided stroll along the famous Arbat Street. The evening's 'Moscow by Night' tour includes an unforgettable river cruise with the White Flotilla.
DAY 6 MOSCOW: SERVIEV POSAD & RUSSIAN CIRCUS
Full day visit to Sergiev Posad, where we visit the Trinity Lavra of St Sergius, the most important Russian monastery and the spiritual heart of the Russian Orthodox Church. The whole Lavra has been beautifully restored for the 700th anniversary celebrations of the birth of St Sergius of Radonezh. This evening is a fun visit to the Old Russian Circus.
DAY 7 MOSCOW - VLADIMIR - SUZDAL: CATHEDRALS
Today we start our journey along the Golden Ring of ancient Russian towns. We first drive through scenic Russian landscapes to Vladimir, one of the land's ancient capitals. Time to visit the Assumption and St. Demetrius Cathedrals, both of which are World Heritage Sites, before arriving at the Golden (city) Gate. Late afternoon arrival in Suzdal; check-in at Hotel Nikolaevsky Posad or similar.
DAY 8 SUZDAL: KREMLIN, NATIVITY CATHEDRAL, WOODEN ARCHITECTURE
Dating back almost 1000 years, Suzdal is a small fairytale town with an unsurpassed collection of ancient Russian architecture. During this excusrion, discover local treasures including the Kremlin, Nativity Cathedral, Museum of Wooden Architecture, St. Ethymius Monastery and the Transfiguration Cathedral.
DAY 9 SUZDAL - BOGOLYBOVO - MOSCOW: CHURCH OF THE INTERCESSION & WHITE MONUMENTS
This morning we drive to the nearby village of Bogolybovo to admire the white stone, single-domed Church of the Intercession on the Nerl. Standing on a small hill in a meadow, this UNESCO Listed church is also part of the White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal collection. Following our visit, we return to Moscow; afternoon arrival and check-in at Hotel Park Inn Sadu or similar.
DAY 10 MOSCOW: DEPARTURE
Transfer from the hotel to the airport.
