A comprehensive escorted tour of Scandinavia and Russia. Travel from Copenhagen, Denmark's wonderful capital, to the fjords of Norway, then to the fascinating historic cities of Stockholm and Heksinki. 10 day tour from Copenhagen to Stockholm or option to continue into Russia and add on St Petersburg and Moscow.

DAY 1 ARRIVAL COPENHAGEN
Arrival in Copenhagen; transfer from airport to Hotel Tivoli or similar. Check in and time at leisure. 

DAY 2 COPENHAGEN-OSLO: CITY SIGHTSEEING, CASTLES & OVERNIGHT FERRY TO OSLO
Copenhagen is Scandinavia’s largest, most lively city and is one of Europe’s most romantic capitals. With its old castles and churches, charming squares and harbours, our morning sightseeing tour acquaints us with all the city’s treasures. The Little Mermaid can be seen guarding the port, then there's the Royal Castle, Nyhavn's restaurants and small boats, not forgetting, City Hall Square.
Afternoon embarkation on your overnight ferry to Oslo. A buffet dinner tonight is included. Onboard the vessel is a variety of restaurants, bars, shops and more.  

DAY 3 OSLO-GEILO: CITY EXPLORATION & MOUNTAIN TOWNS
Founded in 1048, Oslo is Scandinavia’s oldest capital and is today a pleasant, casual city with an interesting mix of old and new architecture.
Upon arrival, our morning sightseeing tour starts with a walk in Frogner Park decorated with the unique sculptures of Gustav Vigeland. We also pass City Hall and the main street, Karl Johan, which leads to the Royal Palace. Early afternoon continuance to the beautiful Hallingdal Valley. We visit Gol, before arriving in Geilo, a small town surrounded by mountains. Check-in at Dr Holms Hotel or similar. Tonight dinner at the hotel is included.  

DAY 4 GEILO –BERGEN: MOUNTAIN SCENERY, FJORDS & WATERFALLS
Today we enter Norway's breathtaking, natural surroundings, as we continue through the Hallingdal Valley, which is known for its folkloric traditions. Crossing the Hardanger mountain plateau, then on our descent to Hardangerfjord we pass the famous Voringsfossen Waterfall. We cross the fjord by ferry and drive along the shoreline to Bergen. Situated on a peninsula and surrounded by 7 mountains, the town's history is closely connected to the sea and is very noticeable along the picturesque waterfront.
Afternoon sightseeing tour introduces us to this remarkable Hanseatic city with the Bryggen area of old wooden houses, the traditional Fish Market, St. Mary’s Church and Haakon’s Hall; check-in at Hotel Scandic Oernen or similar.  

DAY 5 BERGEN-STALHEIM: GORGES & SNOW CLAD MOUNTAINS
The morning is at your leisure, as you explore the stunning Norwegian 'fjord capital'.
Early afternoon departure for historical Voss, with its scenic backdrop of snow clad mountains. After a short break, we continue towards the Naeroy Valley and Stalheim, which offers a stunning view down the Stalheim Gorge. Check-in at  Hotel Stalheim or similar. Dinner this evening at the hotel is included.  

DAY 6 STALHEIM – FAGERNES: GLACIAL VALLEYS & FAMOUS FLAM RAILWAY
Today we continue through the fjord region, with its water-drowned glacial valleys flanked by impossible rugged terrain, to Gudvangen. Here, we will cross the Naeroyfjord and reach the village of Flam. 
Here you can take an optional trip on the magnificent Flam Railway, which is not only one of the world's most breathtaking rail journeys, it is also a masterpiece of engineering.  In the afternoon, the journey continues along Aurlandfjord, with a photo stop at the famous Borgund Stave Church before making our way to Fagernes. Check-in at Hotel Quality Fagernes or similar. Dinner this evening at the hotel is included.

DAY 7 FAGERNES- OSLO: MAJESTIC FJORDS TO OSLO
After breakfast we leave the majestic Norwegian fjords behind us and return to Oslo. Early afternoon arrival and check-in at Hotel Thon Opera or similar.
The remainder of the day is free for your to explore more of the Viking capital, on your own.  

DAY 8 OSLO –STOCKHOLM: FORESTS AND LAKES
Today we head for Stockholm. Passing through Norwegian forests and crossing the border, we enter the county of Varmland in Sweden. The day is spent admiring the typical Swedish landscapes as we drive through fertile farmland, past blue lakes and beside thick forests, which evoke an atmosphere of intriguing fairytales.
In the afternoon we arrive in Stockholm; check-in at Hotel Scandic Grand Central or similar.  

DAY 9 STOCKHOLM: CITY SIGHTSEEING
Stockholm (the 'Beauty on the Water') is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful capitals in the world. Built on 14 islands and protected from the sea by Skargarden archipelago, the morning sightseeing takes us to the Old Town and Royal Palace, the Cathedral and also city centre with its famous City Hall.
The afternoon is at your leisure in the Swedish capital.  

DAY 10 STOCKHOLM- HELSINKI: DAY AT LEISURE & OVERNIGHT FERRY TO HELSINKI
The morning is also free for you to explore more of Stockholm on your own. 
Mid-afternoon, depart for embarkation on your overnight ferry to Helsinki. Cruise slowly through the archipelago, passing numerous islands and islets. Dinner will be enjoyed onboard the vessel as you watch the world drift by.  

DAY 11 HELSINKI: CITY EXPLORATION 
Helsinki is truly located at the crossroads of Western and Eastern culture and this is reflected everywhere in the green and lively Finnish capital.
Upon disembarkation, start a sightseeing tour around the harbours and the Senate Square with the Lutheran Cathedral, up central Mannerheim Street, past the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall and the Sibelius Monument, to the famous Church-in the-Rock. At the end of the tour we check-in at Hotel Glo Art or similar.  

DAY 12 HELSINKI: DAY AT LEISURE
The morning is at your leisure to explore the Finnish capital on your own.
Afternoon excursion to Seurasaari Open-Air Museum, an oasis in the midst of the city with cottages, farmsteads and manors, re-located from all across Finland.  

DAY 13 HELSINKI- ST PETERSBURG VIA VYBORG CASTLE
Today we continue eastbound to St. Petersburg and shortly after crossing the border into Russia, we arrive in Vyborg. Time for a short sightseeing tour and photo stop at Vyborg Castle. Continue on for a late afternoon arrival in St. Petersburg and check-in at Hotel Sokos Vasilievsky or similar.  

DAY 14 ST PETERSBURG: IMPERIAL CITY SIGHTSEEING, CATHERINE'S PALACE & FOLKLORE SHOW
St. Petersburg is an amazing city, with imperial palaces and museums that enjoy worldwide fame, while the Neva River and the many canals have earned the city title, 'Venice of the North'.
During the morning sightseeing tour we see the city's splendours including Peter-Paul Fortress, the Winter Palace, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Church of the Bleeding Saviour, Nevsky Convent and much more.Afternoon excursion to Zarskoye Selo with the impressive Catherine’s Palace and the Amber Room, which vanished during World War II and was restored for St. Petersburg’s tri-centennial celebrations.Evening visit to the Nikolaevsky Palace with an exciting Russian folklore show, includes Russian drinks and snacks  

DAY 15 ST PETERSBURG: PETERHOF PALACE & HERMITAGE MUSEUM
Morning visit to Peterhof, shows us an uncontested masterpiece of the time of Peter the Great, with the impressive Grand Palace, Grand Cascade, Water Avenue and wonderful parks.Afternoon visit to the treasure filled world-famous Hermitage Art Museum. Evening, optional Russian dinner at Russian Kitsch.  

DAY 16 ST PETERSBURG-MOSCOW: CANAL CRUISE & FAST TRAIN TO  MOSCOW
Early morning guided canal cruise along the meandering waterways. 
Around noon, depart for Moscow Railway Station to board the Sapsan high-speed train to Moscow. Travel through endless Russian landscapes along the River Volga, for a late afternoon arrival; check-in at Hotel Park Inn Sadu or similar.  

DAY 17 MOSCOW: KREMLIN, CATHEDRALS, METRO & EVENING RIVER CRUISE
Moscow, The Mother of Russia, is a genuine Russian city with the Kremlin and its onion domed cathedrals. The dramatic changes over the last decade have made the city one of the world's most dynamic cities. Our morning sightseeing includes all the highlights of this vast city - the Red Square and Kremlin, the Theatre Square and Bolshoi Theatre, Sparrow Hills and Moscow University, and the
Kremlin grounds with a visit to one of the cathedrals. Afternoon excursion to the famous Moscow Metro then this evening enjoy a fabulous evening cruise on the Moscow River with the White Flotilla.    

DAY 18 MOSCOW: SERGIEV POSAD & RUSSIAN CIRCUS
Today's excursion  is to Sergiev Posad, where we visit the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, the most important Russian monastery and the spiritual heart of the Russian Orthodox Church.  The whole Lavra has been beautifully restored for the 700th aniverary celebrations of the birth of  St. Sergius of Radonezh. A visit to the 
Old Russian Circus this evening.

DAY 19 MOSCOW FAREWELL
Transfer from hotel to the airport.
