Day 1 Reykjavik Arrival
On arrival at  Reykjavik’s Keflavik Airport  transfer by coach to your hotel. The city centre is a small area characterised by eclectic and colourful houses, good shopping, dining and drinking. Reykjavík has recently established itself as a haven for food lovers, with numerous restaurants taking advantage of the abundance of local seafood, meat and game. Reykjavik has many wonderful museums including the National Museum displaying artefacts from the first settlement to the modern age, giving an excellent overview of Iceland’s history and culture, the Reykjavik 871+2 Settlement Museum, an archaeological museum based around a 10th-century Viking longhouse unearthed in 2001, the Reykjavik Art Museum and the National Gallery.

Day 2 City Sightseeing
This morning take a city sightseeing tour includes Reykjavik‘s top attractions, with some interesting facts and stories about history and culture in Iceland.  Highlights include a visit to the Perlan glass dome where a 360 viewing platform provides some of the best views, the old Höfði house on Reykjavik's seafront where the all-important summit between former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and former U.S.S.R. Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev took place in 1986, and Hallgrímskirkja church, inspired by basalt lava columns. From there the tour continues to Reykjavik city centre and the Parliament building in the Old town. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 3 Inside the Glacier: Ice Cave
From Reykjavík drive through the beautiful and historic Hvalfjörður (Whale-fjord) to Deildartunguhver, the highest-flow hot spring in Europe. Just a short distance from Deildartunguhver are two waterfalls; Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls that literally flow from underneath the lava field, and Barnafoss with its powerful vortex of tumbling water. A short drive follows to the glacier where you will change vehicles and travel up to the unique ice cave, in a special glacier truck. The cave offers an unprecedented look into the inner workings of a glacier. The journey will take you from the opening deep into the glacier itself, where the ice is older and more compressed and where it starts to turn blue.On the way you can see a great example of a glacial fissure, running right through the cave. This is a truly astonishing and otherworldly place.

Day 4 Time at leisure
Time to relax or you can choose to add some great further optional activities.

All year round you can see the quaint towns and geothermal sites of the Reykjanes Peninsula, ride an ATV (similar to a  quad bike) over lava and black sands, snowmobile on a glacier,  go whale watching, ride an Icelandic Viking horse, explore lava tubes and caves, take a mountain Super Jeep tour, visit the Blue lagoon and more. In summer you can also visit the Westman Islands where recent volcanoes have created new islands, the Snaefellnses Peninsula and National Park on Iceland's west for spectacular volcanic landscapes, take a boat trip searching for puffins, dive or snorkel in Silfra Gorge, try river rafting, enter the chamber of an extinct volcano, go fishing, mountain biking or  hiking. In winter you can also enjoy an evening search for the Northern Lights.

Day 5 Golden Circle and Fontana Nature Baths

From Reykjavik go via Nesjavellir geothermal field to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the tectonic plates of Europe and North America meet and one of the world's oldest parliament was founded in 930 AD.  Next stop is Lake Laugavatn and the Fontana Geothermal Baths where you can relax and enjoy pure Icelandic nature whilst  soaking in geothermal pools and natural steam rooms. Or you can just admire the views and visit the café if you choose not to bathe.  Then continue to Gullfoss the “Golden Falls”. Majestic and thunderous, the force and beauty of this two tiered waterfall will astonish you.
