A magnificent, turn of the century ship takes you from Stockholm City Hall out to the royal residence, and the journey is a great way to enjoy the water views. The UNESCO Listed Drottningholm is Sweden’s best-preserved royal castle, built in the 1600’s and a fine representation of European architecture of the time. The Chinese Pavilion is a remarkable treasure, hidden away in the palace’s majestic grounds, and built in the mid-1700’s when Chinoiserie was the height of European fashion. The tour takes between 5 and 8 hours, depending on the time you spend at the castle- there are several departures on the boat back to Stockholm

Its landmarks include the imposing Parliament building, the National Museum, and Finlandia Hall, a concert hall designed by renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. Further along, you will see the stadium that hosted the 1952 Olympics, the new Opera House on Töölönlahti Bay, and the highly unusual Rock Church, an underground house of worship blasted out of native granite and capped with a copper dome.
