This independent tour takes you by train from Copenhagen across the heart of Denmark to the charming and historic town of Aarhus, then on to delightful Odense, the birthplace of the famous Danish author, poet and teller of immortal fairytales, Hans Christian Anderson.

Day 1 Copenhagen Arrival
On arrival, make your own way to your hotel and day at leisure. The capital is full of attractions, most of them located within walking distance of the city centre. We recommend a visit to the Tivoli Gardens, the Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace (the Danish Parliament), the Gefion Fountain, the old harbour ‘Nyhavn’, the Little Mermaid statue, the Round Tower, the museum of Carlsberg, or one of the many other museums of art, culture, history and design. Also enjoy the pedestrian shopping street of Strøget and it's surroundings. Overnight in Copenhagen.

Day 2 Copenhagen - Aarhus By Train
Breakfast at the hotel then make your own way to the Copenhagen Central Station for the train to Aarhus. Enjoy the view as the train moves westward through farming countryside and small villages, some of which were founded by Vikings more than a thousand years ago. Arrival in Åarhus, the second largest city of Denmark and also known as the City of the Smile. On arrival in Aarhus, On arrival, make your own way to your hotel. The remainder of the day is spent exploring this beautiful, small city. 2 nights in Aarhus.

Day 3  Åarhus Day at Leisure
Breakfast at the hotel. We recommend a visit to the Old City (Den Gamle By), the cathedral, Moesgaard museum of Danish Pre-history, and to Marselisborg Castle, the holiday residence of the Royal Family. When the Royal Family is not in residence there is free admission to the palace park for the public from morning to evening. 2nd overnight in Aarhus.

Day 4 Åarhus - Odense
After breakfast at the hotel, make your own way back to the railway station to continue by train to Odense, Denmark’s third largest city and Hans Christian Andersen’s home town. Arrive at the station and make your own way to your hotel.
