Morning at leisure in Torshavn, then this afternoon meet your guide and drive via the mountain roads to the village of Vestmanna, to board a boat and sail out to the Vestmanna bird cliffs, and into and through several sea caves and grottoes– a fabulous experience. Then stop at an old viking farmstead in the beautiful and quaint village of Kvívík, before returning to Torshavn.

Day 4 Sunday Torshavn: Sandoy
Today enjoy a guided day tour to the historic island of Sandoy, one of the most unspoiled islands, where you can still experience the old, Faroese way of life. Drive from Tórshavn over the mountains to the harbour Gamlarætt to catch the ferry. On the sailing across the sound, enjoy the views of Hestur and Koltur. Once on Sandoy, enjoy a church visit, fantastic view points, small villages and bird cliffs. A picnic lunch is eaten en-route.

Your local guide will tell stories about the past and present and you might meet the Prime Minister, whose residence is nearby! Also visit the Cathedral and its charming adjacent neighbourhood, Vágsbotn, with its many boats, where you can see how important the sea and fisheries are to the local inhabitants.
