Add extra nights in Oslo, Bergen or Alesund, or add an overnight stay in Flam - please ask us.

Day 1 Oslo Arrival
On arrival in Oslo, make your own way to your hotel. Enjoy some of Oslo's fine museums including the Viking Ship Museum, the Fram Polar Expedition Museum and the Kon Tiki Museum, or take a stroll through the old wharf area of Bryggen, now bustling with bars and cafes. Visit the Munch Museum, Maritime Museum and Akershus Fortress, and much more. Overnight in Oslo at Thon Opera Hotel or similar.

Day 2 Oslo - Myrdal - Flam - Bergen "Norway in a Nutshell'
Make your own way to the railway station for the train from Oslo to Myrdal, where you will change trains and board the famous 'Flåmsbanen' train to Flåm. The Flåm Railway journey provides some of Norway's wildest and most magnificent scenery. On the 20km long train ride, you can see rivers that cut through deep ravines, waterfalls cascading down the side of steep, snow-capped mountains, and small farms clinging dizzily to sheer slopes.

Arrive in Flåm and enjoy some time in this charming fjordside village. Go for a walk, visit a cafe, explore the Railway Museum or simply enjoy the breathtaking views. Then walk the short distance to the pier and start your cruise to Gudvangen. The ferry travels out of Aurlandsfjord and into Nærøyfjord, one of the narrowest fjords in Europe, and included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Surrounded by towering mountains up to 1800m high, this branch of the Sognefjord is amazingly beautiful, and you will see small, traditional farms, waterfalls and colourful wooden houses.

You can add an overnight in Flam and continue on tomorrow if you wish - please ask us.

On arrival in Gudvangen, board the bus which waits for you at the pier, and travel up the ingenious twists and hairpin bends of the road following Stalheim Canyon,  to arrive in Voss. Here you will board the train for the short trip to Bergen.

On arrival in Bergen, make your own way to your hotel. Bergen, a lovely city beautifully situated on the fjord, is surrounded by 7 mountains and has a long history as a Hanseatic trading port. Walk along Bryygen, the historic wharf area with timbered buildings, formerly the homes and warehouses of wealthy merchants, explore the Fish and Flower markets and enjoy a meal in one of the many cafes or restaurants of this lovely town. And make sure you take the funicular ride up to Mt Fløien for a panoramic view of Bergen and its surroundings. Overnight in Bergen at Hotel Augustin or similar.
