From Moscow travel into the countryside to see the highlights of the fabled Golden Ring towns - Sergiev Posad, the cathedrals of Suzdal and the divine domed white roof of the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl at Bogolybovo. These ancient towns towns are famed for their monasteries, cathedrals, and traditional architecure known as the "White Monuments".

Then return to Moscow for sightseeing before taking the train to St Petersburg. Enjoy private sightseeing in each city, plus select from some great privately guided optional excursions in Moscow and St Petersburg, to complete your explorations. With the convenience of private airport and train station transfers in each destination, you have maximum time to see the many wonderful sights.

Day 1 Moscow Arrival
On arrival in Moscow, transfer to your hotel by private car and check-in. Moscow, the Mother of Russia, is a genuine Russian city with the Kremlin and its onion domed cathedrals. The dramatic changes over the last decade have made the city one of the most dynamic metropolis in the world.

Day 2 Moscow - Sergiev Posad - Vladimir - Suzdal
At 09.00hrs depart Moscow and start the journey along the Golden Ring of ancient Russian towns, driving through scenic Russian landscapes. The first stop is Sergiev Posad, where you arrive at around 10.30hrs. Visit the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, the most important Russian monastery and the spiritual centre of the Russian Orthodox Church. Around noon, transfer to the town of Vladimir,  for a sightseeing tour of the city which includes a visit to the Assumption Cathedral, St. Demetrius Cathedral and a photo stop at Golden Gate. Then on to Suzdal, and check-in at your hotel. Dating back almost 1000 years, Suzdal is a small fairytale town with an unsurpassed collection of ancient Russian architecture.

Day 3 Suzdal Sightseeing
Today enjoy a Suzdal city sightseeing tour which includes Suzdal Kremlin, the Cross of Chambers, the Spaso-Ephimievsky Monastery, the Transfiguration Cathedral , the Nativity Cathedral, Pokrovsky Convent,  and a visit to the Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life.

Day 4 Suzdal - Bogolyubovo - Moscow
This morning transfer from Suzdal to Bogolyubovo to admire the white light of the single-domed Church of the Intercession on the Nerl, built on a small hill by a river meadow, and described as one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in central Russia. This UNESCO Listed church is also part of the White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal collection. Then transfer back to Moscow, arriving at around 14.00hrs, for check in at your hotel.

Day  5 Moscow Sightseeing and Optional Pushkin Museum, Novodevichy Cathedral or Kremlin visits
After breakfast, meet your guide for your private Moscow sightseeing tour which includes all the highlights of this vast city - Red Square, Theatre Square with the Bolshoi Theatre, Sparrow Hills with Moscow University and more.

In the afternoon perhaps enjoy one of the great optional activities offered as follows:

Pushkin Museum 3 hours - the most representative collection in Russia of foreign art dating from ancient times to modern

Novodevichy Cathedral 3 hours - founded in 1524 , with the white Smolensk Cathedral and its sumptuous interior covered in 16th-century frescoes

Kremlin including one of the cathedrals 3 hours - overlooking the Moskva River to the south, Saint Basil's Cathedral and Red Square to the east, and the Alexander Garden to the west it is the best known of the kremlins and includes five palaces, four cathedrals, and the enclosing Kremlin or fortifications

Day  6 Moscow Day at Leisure
Today explore on your own or take another of the wonderful optional excursions as detailed above.

Day 7 Moscow - St Petersburg by Train
After breakfast, transfer to railway station by private car and board the train bound for St. Petersburg. On arrival in St Petersburg, transfer by private car to your hotel, check in and relax.

Day 8 St Petersburg CIty Sightseeing and Optional Hermitage Museum, St Isaac's Cathedral, Peterhof Palace and Zarskoye Selo and Catherine's Palace Visits
St. Petersburg is an amazing city. Its imperial palaces and museums enjoy worldwide fame, while the Neva River and the many canals have deservedly given the city the title “The Venice of the North”. During the morning sightseeing tour get acquainted with all the splendours of the city: the Peter-Paul Fortress, the Winter Palace, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Church of the Bleeding Savior, the Nevsky Convent and much more.

The Hermitage Museum 3 hours -  formerly the Czar´s Winter Palace, includes Old Masters, State Rooms of the Winter Palace and Impressionists´ Exhibition.

St Isaac's Cathedral 3 hours - Russia's largest cathedral with a magnificent gilded dome and impressive interiors

Peterhof Palace 4 hours - an uncontested masterpiece of the time of Peter the Great, with the impressive Grand Palace, Grand Cascade and Water Avenue and its wonderful parks

Zarskoye Selo and Catherine's Palace 4 hours - the delightful town of Pushkin, with the impressive Catherine’s Palace and the astonishing Amber Room, which vanished during World War II and was restored for St. Petersburg’s tri-centennial celebrations.

Day 9 St Petersburg
Today explore the Imperial CIty on your own or delight in another of the optional activities offered, as above.
Day 10 St Petersburg Departure
Arrangements end with check out and transfer to the airport or railway station.
