Oslo, the capital of Norway, sits on the country’s southern coast at the head of Oslofjord and is known for its green spaces and wonderful museums, vibrant social scene and close proximity to the fjords and mountains of the south and west. Enjoy a stay in Oslo - your tour arrangements include accommodation, guided sightseeing, a fjord cruise and an Oslo Pass.

After staying in Oslo perhaps add a trip to the beautiful fjords and a journey on the Flam Railway - take a look at our tours Norway in a Nutshell and Fjords & Glaciers. Or you can add travel by overnight ferry to Copenhagen and a stay there with our Copenhagen Classic Break. You can also add a train to Stockholm and our Stockholm Classic Break.

Day 1 Oslo: Arrival
On arrival in Oslo, make your own way to your hotel. Time to enjoy the city sights including the many fabulous museums - the Viking Ship Museum, Munch Museum and many more. Stroll along the old Bryygen wharf area, now a bustling hub of outdoor cafes, bars and restaurants. Visit the fantastic architectural masterpiece that is the stunning new Opera House and perhaps take a guided tour of the Royal Palace. Your arrangements include a 72 hour Oslo Pass which you can use on public transport and for visiting many attractions. 3 nights in Oslo.

Day 2 Oslo: City Sightseeing
Today explore all the “must see” attractions in Oslo, including the small city centre, Holmenkollen ski jump, Vigeland Sculpture Park, and your choice of either the Fram Museum with the polar exploration ship Fram, or the Kon-Tiki Museum with Thor Heyerdahl’s rafts and the story of his amazing voyages. Then complete your Oslo experience with a visit to the open-air museum on Bygdøy Peninsula and its world-famous stave church, dating from the 1200s. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 3 Oslo: Fjord Cruise
Oslo sits on a large and beautiful fjord and this cruise takes you along narrow sounds, idyllic bays and through a maze of islands, with small, colourful summer houses. You’ll sail past numerous islands including Hovedøya, and the Dyna Lighthouse, through tiny inlets and into sheltered bays, so that you can see the city from different angles. The boat passes the stunning Opera House, then the peninsula of Bygdøy, with many interesting museums including the Maritime Museum, where the veteran sailing ships lie moored outside. Remainder of the day at leisure.
