The growing interest in Nordic food and gourmet culture has also found its way to the Faroe Islands. Traditional Faroese cuisine has evolved over centuries in its own unique way due to the island's remoteness and isolation in the North Atlantic Ocean. Come on a gastronomic journey with an emphasis on local food, culture and tradition in an unbelievably beautiful place.

Day 1 Copenhagen - Tórshavn 
Make your own way to Copenhagen airport for your flight to the Faroe Islands. On arrival at Vágar airport transfer to your hotel in Tórshavn and time at leisure. We suggest a walk around the town, stopping at one of the many cafés, or taste the beer from one of the two local breweries, Okkara and Føroya Bjór. Føroya Bjór has won several commendations and prizes for their beer.

If you are arriving early enough for dinner, we can book a table for you at Restaurant KOKS, one of the Faroe Islands leading gastronomic establishments. In February 2017 KOKS restaurant was awarded a Michelin star, a first for the Faroe Islands. In the evening, you might like to enjoy a nightcap at the Hvonn Brasserie bar, a great meeting place for locals. 

Day 2  Torshavn: Time to Explore and Taste! ETIKA lunch and Restaurant Aarstova dinner
Today explore Torshavn - perhaps take a walk through town, including the charming old parts of town called Reyn and Tinganes. Here you will discover classic Faroese small timber houses, grassed roofs and narrow uncrowded streets. Or visit the marina for a view of the many boats. 

Lunch at the fabulous sushi restaurant ETIKA, where Faroese produce is presented with a Japanese twist. Taste the Faroese salmon - mouthwatering- but make sure you leave room for dinner tonight - you will be dining at Restaurant Aarstova, a true gem, situated in the old part of town in a listed building. It is a charming place with open beams, small doorways, crooked angles, bags of atmosphere and excellent food. 

Day 3 Guided Private Sightseeing, Faroese Family lunch and Fish Feast dinner
After breakfast, you will be collected from your accommodation by your private chauffeur/guide. Your  sightseeing tour takes you north - the exact itinerary will depend on what the weather is like. Look forward to a day of great views, photo opportunities and being entertained by your guide. During the day enjoy a Faroese lunch, served in a private home in comfortable surroundings, where you will have the chance to chat and ask your hosts about Faroese cuisine and life.

In the evening, you are dining at Barbara Fish House, situated in a listed building in the old part of Tórshavn. The atmosphere is homely and cosy with low ceilings and odd plates and cutlery. Fresh fish and shellfish are definitely on the menu!

Day 4 Farewell Tórshavn
Transfer to Vágar airport for your flight to Copenhagen. On arrival in Copenhagen airport, your tour arrangements end.
