Day 1 Arrival
Arrival from Copenhagen with Atlantic Airways and transfer to your accommodation on Vágar. The rest of the day is on your own. Dinner at your hotel tonight is included.
Day 2 Sorvagur- Mykines
This morning transfer from your accommodation to the dock in the village of Sørvagur, where the boat to Mykines sails. This island is home to thousands upon thousands of migrating birds, and it is here you have the chance to get a close hand look at them. A picnic lunch and dinner tonight are included. 2 nights in Mykines.
Day 3 Mykines
Today enjoy a hike to Mykinesolmur where you can spot the charming puffins with their colourful beaks and the impressive gannets, which only breed on the isolated isle to the west of the main island. A walking bridge standing 35 metres from the sea connects the isle with the main island. The free standing rock formations that surround the lighthouse at the edge of the sea cliff are a breathtakingly beautiful sight to behold. Picnic lunch and dinner tonight are included. 2nd night in Mykines.
Day 4 Mykines - Vágar - Skúvoy
This morning return to Vágar, then travel by local bus and ferry via the island of Sandoy to Skúvoy, where the famous Viking chieftain Sigmundur Brestisson built the Faroe Islands’ first Christian church. Upon arrival you will be welcomed to a private home for cake and coffee. Your host will recommend a self guided hike for you and give you further information. Coffee, cake and dinner are included. Spend the night on Skúvoy.
Day 5 Skúvoy to Sandoy
Return by ferry from Skúvoy to Sandoy, also called the saga island. Upon arrival on Sandoy, meet your local driver/ guide for a sightseeing tour of the island, which has been inhabited since the age of the Vikings. Visit the villages of Sandur, Dalur and Húsavík, and listen to exciting sagas and stories and then continue on to the village of Skálavík. Tonight there is a chance to relax in an outdoor hot tub. Picnic lunch and dinner tonight are included. Spend the night in Skálavík.
Day 6 Nolsoy
Morning free. After lunch return by bus and ferry to Tórshavn, then continue by ferry to the island of Nólsoy. Upon arrival visit the tourist office for assistance with locating your overnight accommodation. Then take a walk with a local guide through the village and enjoy the island's attractions, such as seeing Rowing Ove’s boat, the "Diana Victoria". In 1986, Ove rowed alone from the Faroe Islands to the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen, Denmark! Then later on your own, you can walk to the top of the island, where there is the most beautiful panoramic view of Tórshavn and the surrounding islands. Dinner tonight is included. Spend the night on Nólsoy.
Day 7 Torshavn
Return to Tórshavn by ferry, then time to experience Tórshavn on your own. We recommend a visit to the art gallery, Faroese National Museum, The Nordic House, and the old city quarters Tinganes and Reyn. It’s also possible to hike over the mountain from Tórshavn to the cultural centre of the islands, Kirkjubøur. Spend the night in Tórshavn.
Day 8 Departure
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
