Take a short winter break in Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland and the home of Santa Claus!  Meet the man himself on a visit to Santa Claus Village, enjoy an exciting dog sled safari and a Hunt for the Northern Lights. Your tour arrangements include return airport transfers, 3 nights accommodation and these excursions. You can also add other exciting optional activites such as snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoe walks, or more dog sledding and reindeer sleigh rides.

Day 1 Rovaniemi Arrival.
Upon arrival at Rovaniemi Airport transfer to your hotel.  The afternoon is at leisure- browse the shops or perhaps visit the fabulous Artikum Museum.

Day 2 Rovaniemi: Santa Claus Safari
Today enjoy a wonderful safari, which combines nature, culture and the spirit of Christmas. The day starts with a snowmobile safari to a reindeer farm, where you will meet the reindeer and their herders, and learn about reindeer husbandry and their role in traditional Lappish culture. After a short reindeer sled ride, attend a special  ceremony for crossing the Arctic Circle, for which everyone receives a certificate!  In the afternoon transfer by car to Santa Claus Village.  Here you can meet Santa himself and his companions, browse for souvenirs and send postcards from Santa's official Post Office. The day includes a delicious lunch in a cosy restaurant. Then return to town, with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 3 Rovaniemi: Husky Safari
Today transfer the short distance from town to the husky ranch, where these friendly dogs will bark an enthusiastic welcome. After a safety briefing and driving instructions, off we go, riding in pairs. Feel the thrill of speed and the power and joy of the dogs, as you glide across the snowy landscapes. When you come back to the ranch, enjoy some hot berry juice by an open fire and chat with the head musher about these amazing northern animals, before returning to town.

Afternoon at leisure. You can relax and explore the town or add some great optional activities such as snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoe walks, or more dog sledding and reindeer sleigh rides.

Tonight enjoy a fabulous Hunt for the Northern Lights. Transfer by car to an area outside of town, away from any light pollution - the exact place will vary depending on the weather. Experience the surrounding arctic night and enjoy the peace of nature, then warm up with hot sausages by the campfire, before returning to town.
