Onwards to explore the other worldly hot springs area of Geysir, with multicoloured pools of water and mud. Strokkur, the Great Geysir's little brother, spouts to a height of about 25 metres and erupts at 5-7 minute intervals. After lunch drive to the mighty Gullfoss, the "Golden Waterfall", perhaps the most beautiful in the country. Walk around Gullfoss Falls, where the river Hvitá tumbles 32 metres in a double cascade. If weather & road conditions allow, stop on the way back to Reykjavik at Þingvellir National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its fascinating natural beauty and spectacular geological features. The Great Atlantic rift is clearly visible; a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates and you can literally walk between the American and Eurasian continental plates. The tour starts at 09:00hrs and finishes at 16:00hrs.

At 17:15 hrs transfer from your hotel to Perlan Restaurant where you will enjoy a festive 4-course gala dinner. After the main course, guests are picked up by local guides for an evening Reykjavik Bonfire & Christmas Lights Tour, where you can  celebrate with Icelanders at the bonfires that appear all over the city. The tour takes about two hours, after which guests are transferred back  to Perlan Restaurant for dessert. At midnight, with sparkling wine, celebrate the New Year by watching the fireworks from the panoramic balcony. Afterwards dance the night away. Transfer back to hotels around 2 o'clock at night (transfers start at 00:30 for those who want to go home early).
