See the highlights of Scandinavia and then continue on to the imperial jewel of Russia, St Petersburg.

Day 1 Copenhagen: Arrival 
Arrival at Copenhagen Kastrup Airport and transfer to your hotel. At 19:45hrs, just before dinner, meet your Tour Escort and fellow travellers in the hotel lobby.  Dinner and accommodation at the Admiral Hotel, located close to the Amalienborg Palace, the old Nyhavn harbour and the pedestrian streets.  

Day 2 Copenhagen: City Sightseeing and Tivoli Gardens 
The day starts with a 3 hour guided tour of the city. Famous sights include the Royal Amalienborg Palace, Gefion Fountain, Christiansborg Palace (Danish Parliament Buildings), Nyhavn and the famous Little Mermaid. The afternoon is free for exploring this fairytale city. Your tour escort will provide you with tickets to the fabulous Tivoli Gardens. Accommodation at the Admiral Hotel.

Day 3 Copenhagen - Oslo By Overnight Ferry 
Morning free in Copenhagen. Then afternoon transfer by coach from the hotel to the ferry terminal for the overnight ferry to Oslo, departing at approximately 16:30hrs. Enjoy a Scandinavian smörgåsbord dinner as you cruise gently up the Kattegat Straits. Accommodation in 2-berth outside cabins with ensuite. 

Day 4 Oslo: City Sightseeing and Afternoon at Leisure 
A delicious buffet breakfast is being served as you cruise along the enchanting Oslo Fjord. Arrival in Oslo at 09.30hrs, followed by a 3 hour guided tour of the Norwegian capital, including the impressive Vigeland Sculpture Park. Afternoon free - we recommend a visit to the Munch Museum or a stroll along Karl Johan shopping boulevarde. Dinner and accommodation at Thon Hotel Opera Oslo.

Day 5 Oslo - Ulvik: Valleys, Mountains and Waterfalls 
Visit the famous Viking Ship Museum. Then depart from Oslo, driving via Hønefoss along the charming Halling Valley to the tourist resort town of Geilo. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, cross the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli, stopping to view the thundering Vøringsfoss Waterfall with a vertical drop of 180m, the highest in Norway.  Descend Mabodal Canyon to idealic Hardanger Fjord, cross Hardanger bridge and drive to Ulvik. Dinner and accommodation at Brakanes Hotel, ideally located on the banks of the fjord.

Day 6 Ulvik - Bergen: Hardangerfjord and Hanseatic Trading City 
After breakfast start a scenic tour along the Hardanger Fjord, famous for its many fruit orchards, via the towns of Øystese and Norheimsund, arriving in the old Hanseatic trading town of Bergen around midday. Lunch at a local restaurant before a 2 hour tour of Bergen. This will include a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled packhouses, and also the old Hanseatic Quarter. You will ride on the funicular to Mt. Fløien, for the best views of city and fjords way below. Accommodation at the First Hotel Marin, centrally located next to the old Bryggen harbour and close to the pedestrian shopping streets. 

Day 7 Bergen - Flam "Norway in a Nutshell: Flam Railway 
Depart Bergen and drive via Dale to Voss town and board the beautiful Bergen Railway train, bound for Myrdal mountain station. From there, ride on the amazing Flåm Railway - a masterpiece of engineering which descends 2838 feet in less than 1 hour. The journey will take you to the fjordside village of Flåm, with many photo opportunities along the way of waterfalls and mountain scenery. After a short rest in Flåm, start an almost 2 hour cruise along narrow Aurlands and Nærøy Fjords, both branches of Sogn Fjord, the world's longest and deepest fjord. Enjoy spectacular cascading waterfalls, sheer mountain cliffs, snow-clad peaks and a variety of wildlife. Disembark in Gudvangen at the head of Nærøy Fjord and continue by coach through the amazing Stalheim Canyon and Nærøy Valley, across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes, for a short ferry crossing to beautiful Balestrand. Dinner and accommodation at Kvikne’s Hotel, superbly located on the banks of the fjord and surrounded by mountains.

Day 8 Balestrand:  A Day in the Fjords
A day at leisure in Balestrand gives you the opportunity to enjoy the outstanding beauty and nature of the fjords. Start with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast in the hotel’s elegant dining room as you decide how to spend your day. This morning, you may want to relax on the hotel terrace, breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying spectacular views. Or you may like to visit the local aquarium and art gallery, rent a bike or rowing boat from the hotel, or even go on foot up to the nearest mountains. A walking tour of Balestrand village, with its historic buildings and other noteworthy sites, can also be arranged. Dinner and accommodation at Kvikne’s Hotel.

Day 9 Balestrand - Geiranger: Jostedal Glacier & Briksdal Glaciers, Waterfalls & Geirangerfjord 
Depart by ferry from Dragsvik to Hella, before a scenic tour along the northern side of Sogn Fjord. Continue by road to Fjaerland, passing under Jostedal Glacier (Europe's largest), then on to Skei Village at the northern end of Lake Jølster. Descend to beautiful Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit world-famous Briksdal Glacier. The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best views. Afterwards, a typical Norwegian lunch will be served in sight of the glacier. In the afternoon the tour continues via Loen and Stryn, to picturesque Hellesylt village. From here, by ferry for the 1 hour cruise along spectacular Geiranger Fjord, possibly the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords. During the cruise, you will pass close to some magnificent waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil and Seven Sisters. Dinner and accommodation at the Union Hotel, overlooking Geiranger Fjord.

Day 10 Geiranger - Oslo: Serpentine Road, Valleys & Lakes 
From atop famous Serpentine Road, you have the opportunity to digest some amazing views of the fjord, before crossing the rugged Grotli Mountains to Lom, well known for its 14th Century stave church. The tour continues via Lake Vågå before descending magnificent Gudbrands Valley to lovely Lillehammer, where we stop for lunch. Afterwards, the journey continues alongside Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, back to Oslo. Dinner and accommodation at Thon Hotel Opera Oslo.

Day 11 Oslo - Stockholm: Land of Forests
Depart Oslo by coach towards the Swedish border. Cross into the attractive province of Vãrmland to arrive in the city of Karlstad on Lake Vänern, the largest in Sweden. Lunch in Karlstad before continuing through a landscape of forests and sparkling lakes to reach the Swedish capital in the late afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at the Clarion Hotel Sign, a centrally located first class hotel. 

Day 12 Stockholm: City Sightseeing & Old Town (Gamla Stan)
The day starts with a 4hr guided, city tour with famous sights including the Royal Palace, Parliament Buildings, Cathedral, Royal Theatre and more. You will also visit the enchanting Old Town (Gamla Stan) with its narrow cobbled streets and numerous antique shops. A highlight of the tour is a visit to City Hall with its famous Blue and Golden Halls, where the Nobel Prize banquet is held each year. Afternoon at leisure - we suggest a visit to the famous Vasa Museum or take one of the popular canal tours. Accommodation at the Clarion Hotel Sign.

Day 13 Stockholm - Helsinki by Overnight Ferry
This morning is free to explore Stockholm on your own. Afternoon transfer from hotel to pier, for your overnight ferry to Stockholm. Sail slowly down the glorious archipelago past numerous small islands, before dinner on board. Choice of entertainment, bars, shops and casino. Accommodation is in 2-berth outside cabins (seaside) with ensuite.  

Day 14 Helsinki City Sightseeing and Afternoon at Leisure 
Enjoy breakfast as you sail into Helsinki. After disembarkation, there is a 3hr guided tour of Finland's capital city. Some famous sights include Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, Parliament House, Finlandia Hall, Sibelius Park & Monument, Underground Church and much more. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and accommodation at Haven Hotel, a first class hotel conveniently located in the centre of Helsinki. 

Day 15 Helsinki - St Petersburg: River Cruise & St Isaac's Cathedral
Transfer by coach from the hotel to the railway station. Depart from Helsinki aboard Allegro train, bound for Petersburg. A boxed lunch box will be served. Arrival in St. Petersburg. Coach transfer from railway station to hotel combined with 1 hour guided cruise along the Neva River and visit to St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Welcome dinner including a shot of vodka and 1 glass wine. Accommodation at the Ambassador Hotel, a four star hotel located in the city centre, near the famous Mariinsky Theatre.

Day 16 St Petersburg: Peterhof Palace and Hermitage Museum 
The day begins with a transfer to Neva River cruise harbour for cruise by hydrofoil to Peterhof, including Grand Palace and lower parks with fountains. Lunch at local restaurant and then a tour of the world-famous Hermitage Art Museum and the State Rooms of the Winter Palace. Return to your hotel. Dinner and accommodation at the Ambassador Hotel.

Day 17 St Petersburg: Catherine's Palace & City Sightseeing 
 This morning transfer to the town of Pushkin followed by a visit to Catherine’s Palace including the famous Amber room. Lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a 3 hour panoramic tour of the city by coach with local English-speaking guide. St. Petersburg is a city of outstanding architectural beauty, famous for its magnificent palaces, cathedrals, fountains and bridges and the tour includes sights as the Square of Arts, the Russian Museum, the Cathedral of Our Saviour on the Spilt Blood, Griboedov canal, Nevsky Prospect, the Palace Square with the Winter Palace, the spit of the Basil’s Island, the Menshikov Palace, the Senate Square, and the Bronze Horseman. A visit will be paid to Peter & Paul Fortress. This evening you will be taken to see a colourful Russian folklore show at the Nikolaevsky Palace, with snacks during the intermission. Dinner at the Dostoevsky Restaurant or similar. Accommodation at the Ambassador Hotel.

Day 18 St Petersburg: Departure
Transfer to St Petersburg airport for your flight and end of arrangements.
