Experience the beauty of Norway then travel to Stockholm and Helsinki on this wonderful tour. You can also extend this tour with 3 nights in imperial St Petersburg.

Day 1 Oslo Arrival 
On arrival, transfer from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to your hotel. Your tour escort will meet you at 19:45hrs (before dinner) in the hotel lobby. Dinner and overnight at Thon Hotel Opera Oslo, centrally located close to Karl Johans Gate. 

Day 2 Oslo - Ulvik: Valleys, Mountains & Waterfalls 
After breakfast, visit the famous Viking Ship Museum. Then depart from Oslo, driving via Hønefoss along the charming Halling Valley to the mountain resort town of Geilo. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue across the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli, stopping to view the thundering Vøringsfoss Waterfall, with a drop of 180 metres, the highest in Norway. 
Descend the amazing Mabodal Canyon to idyllic Hardanger Fjord, then cross the Hardanger bridge and on to Ulvik. Dinner and overnight at Brakanes Hotel, ideally located on the banks of the fjord.

Day 3 Ulvik - Bergen: Hardangerfjord & Historic City
After breakfast start the scenic drive along the Hardanger Fjord, famous for its many fruit orchards and vivd green fields, travelling via the towns of Øystese and Norheimsund, to arrive in the old Hanseatic trading town of Bergen around midday. Lunch at a local restaurant, before a 2 hour tour of Bergen, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled packhouses, and also the old Hanseatic Quarter. Take a ride on the funicular to Mt. Fløien, for the best views of the city and fjords way below. Accommodation at the First Hotel Marin, centrally located next to the old Bryggen harbour and close to the pedestrian shopping streets. (Please note dinner tonight is NOT included)

Day 4 Bergen - Flam - Balestrand: Flam Railway & Sognefjord
After breakfast, depart Bergen and drive via Dale to Voss, to b
oard the Bergen Railway train bound for Myrdal mountain station. From Myrdal, we ride on the amazing Flåm Railway - a masterpiece of engineering which descends 865 metres in less than 1 hour. The journey will take you to the charming, fjordside village of Flåm, with many photo opportunities and a few stops along the way, passing waterfalls and spectacular mountain scenery.

After a short time in Flam, enjoy a 2 hour cruise along the narrow Aurlands and Nærøy Fjords, both branches of the Sognefjord, the world's longest and deepest fjord and known as the "Queen of the Fjords". Enjoy spectacular cascading waterfalls, sheer mountain cliffs, snow-clad peaks and a variety of wildlife. Disembark in Gudvangen at the head of the Nærøy Fjord, and continue by coach through the amazing Stalheim Canyon and Nærøy Valley, and across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes. Here we take a short ferry ride across to beautiful Balestrand. 2 nights accommodation and dinner at Kvikne’s Hotel, superbly located on the banks of the fjord and surrounded by mountains.

Day 5 Balestrand Day at Leisure
A day at leisure in Balestrand gives you the opportunity to enjoy the outstanding beauty and nature of the fjords. Start with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast in the hotel’s elegant dining room, as you decide how to spend your day. This morning, you may want to relax on the hotel terrace, breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the spectacular views. Or you may like to visit the local aquarium and art gallery, rent a bike or rowing boat from the hotel, or even go on foot up the neaby mountains. A walking tour of Balestrand village, with its historic buildings and other noteworthy sites, can also be arranged. Dinner and 2nd night at Kvikne’s Hotel.

Day 6 Balestrand - Geiranger
After breakfast, depart by ferry from Dragsvik to Hella, before a scenic tour along the northern side of the Sognefjord. Continue by road to Fjaerland, passing under Jostedal Glacier (Europe's largest), then on to Skei Village at the northern end of Lake J
ølster. Descend to beautiful Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit world-famous Briksdal Glacier, then journey up to the glacier in open cars, for the best views. Afterwards, enjoy a typical Norwegian lunch, served in sight of the glacier.

After lunch continue via Loen and Stryn, to picturesque Hellesylt village. From here, continue by ferry on a 1 hour cruise along the spectacular Geiranger Fjord, possibly the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords. During the cruise, you will pass close to some magnificent waterfalls, including the Bridal Veil and Seven Sisters falls. Dinner and accommodation at the Union Hotel, overlooking Geiranger Fjord.

Day 7 Geiranger - Oslo
Depart from Geiranger and then from atop the famous Serpentine Road, enjoy the  amazing views of the fjord
and surrounding areas, before crossing the rugged Grotli Mountains to Lom, well known for its 14th Century stave church. Then continue via Lake Vågå, before descending the magnificent Gudbrands Valley to lovely Lillehammer, where we stop for lunch. Afterwards, the journey continues alongside Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, back to Oslo. Dinner and accommodation at Thon  Hotel Opera Oslo.

Day 8 Oslo - Stockholm 
After breakfast, we depart from Oslo, and continue by coach towards the Swedish border, and into the attractive province of Värmland, to the city of Karlstad on Lake Vänern, the largest lake in Sweden. Lunch in Karlstad then the tour continues through a landscape of forests and sparkling lakes to reach the Swedish capital in the late afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at Clarion Hotel Sign.

Day 9 Stockholm City Sightseeing 
Stockholm, one of the most beautiful capitals in the world, is built on 14 islands and connected by 57 bridges. With 750 years of history and a rich cultural life, this is a truly extraordinary place. Start today with a 4 hour guided tour of the city - the famous sights include the Royal Palace, Parliament Buildings, Cathedral, and the Royal Theatre. You will also visit the enchanting Old Town (Gamla Stan) with its narrow cobbled streets and numerous antique shops. Highlight of the tour is a visit to City Hall with its impressive Blue and Golden Halls, where the Nobel Prize banquet is held each year. The afternoon is free- perhaps visit the famous Vasa Museum or take one of the canal tours, to see the city from a differrent angle. 2nd night at the Clarion Hotel Sign. (Please note dinner tonight is NOT included).

Day 10 Stockholm - Helsinki: Cruise the Archipelago
Morning free in Stockholm- walk the charming streets of the famous old town, Gamla Stan, and enjoy sitting in the many bars, cafes and restaurants, to watch the passing parade. Or indulge in some Nordic shopping in the many quirky boutiques and homeware stores. In the afternoon transfer from the hotel to the pier, and board the ferry for the overnight voyage to Helsinki. Sail slowly down the picturesque archipelago, past numerous small islands, and enjoy dinner on board. There is a choice of entertainment on the ferry including bars, shops and a casino. Overnight in a 2-berth outside cabin with private facilities (with sole use of the cabin).

Day 11 Helsinki City Sightseeing 
Enjoy your buffet breakfast as you sail into Helsinki harbour. After disembarkation, there is a 3 hour guided tour of Helsinki. Famous sights include the Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, Parliament House, Finlandia Hall, Sibelius Park & Monument, Underground Temple, and much more.  During the afternoon, you can explore the busy market place or the many souvenir shops close to the harbour. Finnish crystal and leather goods are an excellent buy. Or take the short ferry ride to visit charming Suomenlinna Fortress, since 1991 on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List, and a unique monument to European military architecture. Dinner and overnight at the Haven Hotel. 

Day 12 Helsinki Departure or Start of St Petersburg Extension
The 12 day tour Oslo-Helsinki ends after breakfast, with a transfer to Helsinki Vantaa Airport.
For guests continuing on to St Petersburg, transfer to the railway station for departure on the ’Allegro’ train, bound for St. Petersburg. Enjoy a lunch box provided on the train, where you will also be processed for customs and immigartion whilst in your seat. On arrival into St. Petersburg, transfer from the railway station to your hotel, with a 1 hour guided boat cruise along Neva river and a visit to St Isaac's Cathedral along the way. Your Welcome dinner at the hotel tonight includes a shot of vodka and 1 glass of wine. 3 nights in St Petersburg at the Ambassador Hotel, located in the city centre, near the famous Mariinsky Theatre.

Day 13 St Petersburg : Peterhof Palace & Hermitage Art Museum
Buffet breakfast at hotel then transfer to the pier to take the hydrofoil to Peterhof Palace. Your visit here includes the Grand Palace and the lower parks with their ornate fountains. Lunch at a local restaurant, then back to St Petersburg for a tour of the world-famous Hermitage Art Museum and the State Rooms of the Winter Palace. 2nd night and dinner at the Ambassador Hotel.

Day 14 St Petersburg: Catherine's Palace, Amber Room & Folklore Show 
Buffet breakfast then a morning tour to
Pushkin, to visit Catherine's palace including the famous Amber Room. Lunch at a local restaurant then in the afternoon return to the city for a 3 hour panoramic tour, taking you past magnificent palaces, cathedrals, fountains and bridges, and the main sights including the Square of Arts, the Russian Museum, the Cathedral of Our Saviour of the Spilt Blood, Nevsky Prospect, Palace Square with the Winter Palace and the Bronzed Horseman, and a visit to the Peter & Paul Fortress. This evening, enjoy a colourful Russian folklore show at the Nikolaevsky Palace, with snacks during intermission, followed by dinner at the Dostoevsky Restaurant or similar. 3rd night at the Ambassador Hotel.

Day 15 St Petersburg Departure
Buffet breakfast at hotel followed by transfer to St Petersburg Airport and end of arrangements.
