On this escorted tour visit the highlights of Stockholm, Helsinki and St Petersburg - 3 wonderful and very different cities, all magnificently situated on the Baltic Sea.  

Day 1 Stockholm: Arrival
Arrive at Stockholm's Arlanda Airport and transfer to your hotel.  Meet your tour escort and fellow travellers at 19.45hrs (before dinner) in the hotel lobby. Dinner and accommodation at the Clarion Hotel Sign for 2 nights. 

Day 2 Stockholm: City Sightseeing and Afternoon at leisure
The day starts with a 4 hour guided tour of the city. Famous sights include the Royal Palace, Parliament Buildings, Cathedral, Royal Theatre, etc. You will also visit the enchanting Old Town (Gamla Stan), with its narrow cobbled streets and numerous antique shops. A highlight of the tour is a visit to the City Hall with its famous Blue and Golden Halls, where the Nobel Prize banquet is held each year. The afternoon is free in Stockholm - perhaps visit the famous Vasa Museum or take one of the popular canal tours.

Day 3 Stockholm - Helsinki: Morning at leisure then cruise the Stockholm Archipelago
Morning free in Stockholm.  Afternoon transfer from the hotel to the ferry pierl for your overnight ferry to  Helsinki, sailing slowly through the picturesque Stockholm archipelago, past numerous small islands. Onboard there is a wide choice of entertainment, such as bars, shops and a casino. Overnight in a 2 berth outside cabin with private facilities.  We recommend bringing an overnight bag to avoid having to carrying large suitcases to and from your cabin.

Day 4 Helsinki: City Sightseeing & Afternoon at Leisure
Enjoy a buffet breakfast as you sail into Helsinki. After disembarkation, start the 3 hour guided tour of the city- famous sights include the Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, Parliament House, Finlandia Hall, Sibelius Park & Monument, Underground Temple, and much more. During the afternoon, you can explore the busy market place or the many souvenir shops close to the harbour. Finnish crystal and leather goods are an excellent buy. Dinner and accommodation at Haven Hotel.

Day 5 Helsinki - St Petersburg by Fast Train: River Cruise and St Isaac's Cathedral
This morning transfer by coach from the hotel to the railway station, to take the “Allegro” train to St. Petersburg. A lunch box is served on the train. On arrival in St. Petersburg, transfer from railway station to the river for a 1 hour guided boat cruise along the Neva River, and visit to St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Then transfer to the hotel for a welcome dinner including a shot of vodka and a glass of wine. Accommodation at the Ambassador Hotel for 3 nights.

Day 6 St Petersburg: Peterhof Palace and Hermitage Art Museum
The day begins with a transfer to the Neva River, for a cruise by hydrofoil to Peterhof Palace, on the Gulf of Finland. Your tour includes the Grand Palace and the lower parks and spectacular fountains. Lunch at a local restaurant, then a tour of the world-famous Hermitage Art Museum and the State Rooms of the Winter Palace. Dinner at the Ambassador Hotel.

Day 7 St Petersburg: City Sightseeing, Catherine's Palace & Amber Room
This morning transfer to the town of charming town of Pushkin, for a visit to Catherine’s Palace including the famous Amber room. Lunch at a local restaurant, then back to the city for a 3 hour panoramic tour of the highlights of this Imperial city, a place of outstanding architectural beauty, famous for its magnificent palaces, cathedrals, fountains and bridges. Your tour includes the Square of Arts, the Russian Museum, the Cathedral of Our Saviour on the Spilt Blood, Griboedov canal, Nevsky Prospect, the Palace Square with the Winter Palace, the spit of Basil’s Island, the Menshikov Palace, the Senate Square, and the Bronze Horseman. A stop is made at the Peter & Paul Fortress. This evening enjoy a colourful Russian folklore show at the Nikolaevsky Palace, with snacks during the intermission, and dinner at the Dostoevsky Restaurant.

Day 8  St Petersburg: Departure
Your arrangements end with transfer to St. Petersburg Airport
