On this tour visit the marvellous Imperial city of St Petersburg, then the heart of old Russia, Moscow. Continue on to the ancient towns of Suzdal, Vladimir and Bogolyubovo, which together form part of the "Golden Ring". These historic Russian towns are famed for their monasteries, cathedrals, and traditional architecure known as the "White Monuments".

Day 1 St Petersburg Arrival
Make your own way to your hotel or there is an optional private transfer from the airport. Accommodation at Hotel Sokos Vasilievsky or similar; check-in and early evening welcome meeting with your tour escort and fellow guests.

Day 2 St Petersburg: Imperial City Tour & Catherine’s Palace and the Amber Room 
St. Petersburg is an amazing city. Its imperial palaces and museums enjoy worldwide fame, while the Neva River and the many canals have deservedly given the city the title The Venice of the North. During your morning sightseeing tour, become acquainted with all the splendours of the city: the Peter-Paul Fortress, Winter Palace, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Church of the Bleeding Savior, the Nevsky Convent and more. In the afternoon,  there is an optional visit to Zarskoye Selo with the impressive Catherine’s Palace and the Amber Room, which vanished during World War II and was restored for St. Petersburg’s tri-centennial celebrations. In the evening you can enjoy an optional visit to the Nikolaevsky Palace to seen an exciting traditional Russian folklore show, including some Russian drinks and snacks.

Day 3 St Petersburg: Peterhof Palace & Hermitage Art Museum
This morning offers an optional excursion to Peterhof Palace - an uncontested masterpiece of the time of Peter the Great, with the impressive Grand Palace, Grand Cascade, Water Avenue and its wonderful parks (please note the fountains at Peterhof only operate from May to the end of August). In the afternoon, you can enjoy an optional visit to the world-famous, treasure filled Hermitage Art Museum - a truly wonderful way to end your exploration of this magnificent city.  Tonight, you might like to join the optional Russian dinner at Restaurant Russian Pryanosti & Radosti.

Day 4 St Petersburg-Moscow: Canal Cruise and Fast train to Moscow
In the early morning, you can take an optional guided canal cruise along the meandering waterways of St Petersburg.
Around noon, we transfer to the Railway Station and board the Sapsan high-speed train bound for Moscow. The train ride takes us through endless Russian landscapes along the River Volga. In the late afternoon we arrive in Moscow; accommodation at Hotel Park Inn Sadu or similar.

Day 5 Moscow: Kremlin, Cathedrals, Metro & River Cruise
Moscow, the Mother of Russia, is a genuine Russian city with the Kremlin and its onion domed cathedrals. The dramatic changes over the last decade have made the city one of the most dynamic metropolis in the world. Morning sightseeing includes all the highlights of this vast city - Red Square with the Kremlin, Theatre Square with the Bolshoi Theatre, Sparrow Hills with Moscow University and the Kremlin grounds including one of the cathedrals. In the afternoon, an optional visit to the famous Moscow Metro including the stations along the Ring Line, followed by a guided stroll along famous Arbat Street, is offered.  This evening's optional tour is 'Moscow by Night' tour which and includes an unforgettable river cruise with the White Flotilla.

Day 6 Moscow: Sergiev Posad & Russian Circus
Today is available a full day optional excursion to Sergiev Posad, where we visit the Trinity Lavra of St Sergius, the most important Russian monastery and the spiritual heart of the country.This year the monastery celebrates the 700th anniverary of St Sergius.  The evening offers an optional excursion, being a fun visit to the Old Russian Circus.

Day 7 Moscow- Vladimir- Suzdal: Cathedrals
Today we start our journey along the Golden Ring of ancient Russian towns. We first drive through scenic Russian landscapes to Vladimir, one of the land's ancient capitals. During a town sightseeing tour of Vladimir, we visit the Assumption Cathedral and see the St. Demetrius Cathedral, both of which are World Heritage Sites, before arriving at the Golden (city) Gate. Late afternoon arrival in Suzdal; check-in at Hotel Nikolaevsky Posad or similar.

Day 8 Suzdal: Kremlin, Cathedral and Wooden Architecture
Dating back almost 1000 years, Suzdal is a small fairytale town with an unsurpassed collection of ancient Russian architecture. During today's optional full day excursion, discover local treasures including the Kremlin, Nativity Cathedral, the Museum of Wooden Architecture, St. Ethymius Monastery and the Transfiguration Cathedral. 

Day 9 Suzdal - Bogolyubovo-Moscow: Church of the Intercession and White Monuments
This morning we drive to the nearby village of Bogolyubovo to admire the white stone, single-domed Church of the Intercession on the Nerl. Standing on a small hill in a meadow, this UNESCO Listed church is also part of the White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal collection. Following our visit, w
e return to Moscow; afternoon arrival and check-in at Hotel Park Inn Sadu or similar.

Day 10 Moscow Departure
Optional private transfer from hotel to the airport and end of arrangements.
