A delightful tour of Copenhagen & Funen Island with an emphasis on food. Traditional Danish cuisine has always consisted of produce fresh from the garden, field & sea. During the last decades, Spanish & Italian influences have also brought spices and flavours into the Danish kitchen. The Michelin Guide credits Copenhagen as having some of the world’s best restaurants, including Restaurant Noma, named as Best Restaurant in the World in 2011, 2012 and 2014. Day 1   ARRIVAL COPENHAGEN
Arrive in Copenhagen and make your own way Hotel Admiral, situated at the harbour side. This charming hotel was formerly an old warehouse, and was developed into a hotel in 1972. The hotel's restaurant, Salt, overlooks the harbour and has a fabulous reputation and a very good kitchen. Accommodation at Admiral Hotel.  

Day 2  COPENHAGEN CULINARY TOUR
Breakfast at the hotel then enjoy a 4 hour Culinary Tour, centred mainly around the New Market halls. Hearing stories about the recent rise of Nordic cuisine and indulging in some Danish gastronomic delights is an ideal way to enjoy time in this wonderful city! Tastings include organic cheeses, apple wine, a Bornholmer plate (mustard, crackers, juice, various lollies), smoked ham or beef, craft beer/juice, bonbons, chocolate treats (flødebolle) and seasonal spices and herbs. (Please note this tour does not operate on Sundays). Afternoon at leisure and time to explore the city. Take a walk on the pedestrian street with its many tempting shops, Danish silver, Royal Copenhagen porcelain, Danish and international fashion shops and small cafés, stop for a cup of freshly brewed cup of coffee and a taste of Danish pastry. Accommodation at Admiral Hotel.

Day 3 COPENHAGEN - MILLINGE
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Pick up your rental car from the downtown office and head off into the Danish landscape to experience this marvellous country. Leaving Copenhagen, go towards Fynen island, also called the gardens of Denmark, driving on the free way towards Storebaelt, The Big Belt Bridge, one of the longest bridges in the world and the connection between Zealand and Fynen. Continue towards Odense, Hans Christian Andersen's birth place. Take a stroll through the old town, see the charming Hans Christian Anderson Museum and maybe have a cup of coffee and Danish fruitcake with whipped cream. Take the small walk to St. Knud’s Cathedral with one of the most spectacular golden altars in Denmark, made by Claus Berg. Then it's another 45 minutes’ drive to your overnight stay at Falsled Kro, an inn dating back several hundred years and said to be one of the best restaurants in Denmark. The Inn has 11 rooms and 2 suites, each romantically decorated. Dinner and accommodation at Falsled Kro.

Day 4  MILLINGE- GUDME
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Today drive along the coastline through the Fynen landscape towards Nyborg and have an overnight stay at the 16th century castle of Broholm with only 14 rooms. Broholm has been faithfully restored by the family Sehested over 3 years and today it is really worth a visit. Enjoy the romantic setting of this small but unique Castle surrounded by a moat – check in and perhaps enjoy have tea in the “summer house”. Dinner and accommodation at Broholm Castle. 

Day 5  GUDME – COPENHAGEN
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive back to Copenhagen (approximately 2.5 hours drive).   Accommodation at Admiral Hotel.  

Day 6  COPENHAGEN DEPARTURE
Return your rental car to Copenhagen Airport and end of arrangements.
