Day 1:        ARRIVAL OSLO
Arrive at Oslo's Gardermoen Airport, pick-up your rental car, and drive into the city. We recommend a visit to the famous Vigeland sculpture park, the Viking-ship Museum where the best preserved Viking ships ever found are on display, the Fram Museum where the entire original Arctic exploration ship Fram is exhibited with its original interior and inventory, the Kon-tiki Museum which contains original vessels and objects from Thor Heyerdal’s many expeditions or one of the many other interesting sights in Oslo. Spend time in the old Bryggen wharf area, now bustling with bars and cafes. Overnight in Oslo at Comfort Grand Central Hotel or similar.

Day 2:        OSLO – KRISTIANSAND (325 KM)
In the morning, depart from Oslo and head south. The southern part of Norway is known as  “The Norwegian Riviera”. This stretch of coast has more sunny days per year than anywhere else in the country, making it a holiday paradise. Drive via Larvik, an attractive port town with a fine maritime museum, and continue to Kristiansand. Southern Norway’s largest city is charming with its weathered old homes and lively summer atmosphere. The city was built by King Christian IV in 1641 in a characteristic chessboard layout featuring four town “quarters”, and the centre of the town is an attractive mixture of historic buildings and relaxed seaside atmosphere. Overnight in Kristiansund at Thon Hotel Wergeland or similar.

Day 3:        KRISTIANSAND – STAVANGER (270 KM)
Leave Kristiansand and drive to Mandal, the southernmost town in Norway. The town is built on both sides of the Mandalselva river and has extensive parklands and two kilometres of sandy beaches within easy reach. The wooden church of Mandal, built in 1821 and Norway’s largest, is worth a visit. Continue to Stavanger, the cosmopolitan town of the Rogaland region and Norway’s 4th largest city. Visit the cathedral (the oldest in Norway) and Old Stavanger, where you will find Northern Europe’s biggest and best preserved  concentration of wooden houses, with more than 170 houses built at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century. Overnight in Stavanger at Thon Hotel Maritim or similar.

Day 4:        STAVANGER– REGIONS OF ROGALAND AND HARDANGER (295 KM)
Explore the Rogaland region and take the ferry from Lauvvik to Oanes. Easily accessible from Stavanger is one of Norway’s most famous sights, Preikestolen or "Pulpit Rock", which is an awesome flat rock formation standing out almost 600 metres above the Lysefjord. The sheer rock walls rise as high as one kilometre in places. Hiking up to the Preikestolen gives you an astonishing view of the Lysefjord from 600 metres above sea level. (The hike takes at least 2 hours each way and is demanding). From Stavanger continue towards the Hardanger region, and take the ferry from Hjelmeland to Nesvik and on to the romantic village of Rosendal, located by the fjord. Overnight in Rosendal at Rosendal Fjord Hotel or similar.

Day 5:        ROSENDAL – BERGEN – EIDFJORD (320 KM)
In the morning drive to Utne. Travel by ferry to Kvanndal, and continue to the old Hanseatic town Bergen, capital of Western Norway and gateway to the fjords Take a tour of Bergen; visit the Fish and Flower Market, the old harbour of Bryggen, the Hanseatic quarters and  take a ride on the funicular up to Mount Fløien to admire the magnificent views over the city and the surrounding area. Depart from Bergen and drive by the shores of the Hardanger fjord, known as “the fertile fjord” due to the hundreds of thousands of apple trees lining the hillsides. From Bruravik take the bridge to Brimnes (not included) and arrive in  Eidfjord, the innermost village in Hardanger. Overnight in Eidfjord at Qulaity Hotel & Resort Voringfoss or similar.

Day 6:        EIDFJORD – HØNEFOSS (280 KM)
Visit the Hardangervidda Natursenteret (nature centre), located within the Hardangervidda mountain plateau and one of Norway’s largest national parks. Drive through the region of Hardangervidda and via the scenic villages of Geilo and Gol to Hønefoss. Visit the Hadeland Glassverk in Jevnaker, a famous glass production company and beautiful recreational area with the  chance to buy Norwegian glasswork. Overnight in Hønefoss at Comfort Hotel Ringerike or similar.
