Experience magnificent Arctic scenery close up, on a summer adventure to tbeautiful Isfjord Radio at Cape Linnè. Travel by boat from Longyearbyen into an area far away from civilization, where you’ll discover history, biological diversity and unique geological conditions. Stay 2 nights at Isfjord Radio, a former radio station situated at the outermost part of the Isfjord, with majestic mountains overlooking the Arctic Ocean, and now a small hotel. Enjoy a level of quality and comfort that is unexpected so far into the wilderness.

Day 1 Longyearbyen Arrival
On arrival in Longyearbyen take the coach transfer to your hotel. Time to explore the town- perhaps visit the Svalbard Museum, the North Pole Expedition Museum and the Svalbard Kirke, or browse the shops for a unique souvenir. Overnight at Basecamp Hotel or similar in Longyearbyen.

Day 2 Longyearbyen-Cape Linnè: Isfjord Radio
Day at leisure. Then this afternoon meet your guide in the hotel lobby, at about 17:00 pm. After a briefing about the trip, the equipment and outer clothing, transfer to the quay, where the polar circle boat is waiting to start your safari tour towards Isfjord Radio. On the way, we have time to enjoy the fantastic fjord scenery, and the wildlife including Arctic seabirds. We spend the rest of the afternoon exploring this area, before reaching Isfjord Radio, where we stay for 2 nights, with a fabulous 3 course dinner each evening.

Isfjord Radio was built in 1933 as an outpost for radio operators. Today it is a modern luxury hotel, surrounded by rough coastal landscape. Just as the original residents of the outpost did decades ago, you'll gather around the table for dinner for some amazing tastes from the Arctic: smoked seal, whale, halibut with roe butter and reindeer sausage. Most of the meat here is hunted by one of the three trappers left in Spitsbergen, and prepared in Isfjord Radio's kitchen.

Day 3 Isfjord Radio: Coastline, Kapp Starostin, Esmark Glacier, Bird Cliffs of Alkehornet
This morning at 10:00 am we’ll board the boat again for an exciting safari to the other side of the fjord. The route will take us east along the coastline, before crossing Isfjorden at Kapp Starostin, and thence to the mighty bird cliffs of Alkehornet, with thousands of nesting birds. In Trygghamna we go ashore and enjoy an expedition lunch on the beach. After lunch, we’ll have a closer look at the area before heading to the fantastic Esmark Glacier in Ymerbukta. If we are lucky, we might observe whales, seals or even get a glimpse of “king of the Artic”, the polar bear. 2nd overnight at  Isfjord Radio including 3-course dinner.

Day 4  Russian Settlement of Barentsburg & Further Exploring: Return to Longyearbyen
Breakfast is followed by a new day of adventure.  We leave Isfjord Radio and board the boat. First we head to Grønfjorden and the Russian settlement Barentsburg, a mining city with approximately 350 residents and a fascinating place to visit. We go ashore and take a tour around the town, before enjoying a light lunch, served in the brewery. After lunch, we head back to the boat and set course towards Longyearbyen, with several interesting stop along the way - your guide will determine where the best places are to stop. We arrive in Longyearbyen during the mid to late afternoon. Overnight  at Basecamp Hotel or similar in Longyearbyen.
