Russia is a mighty country of great history, diversity and culture with its most popular desitnations being Moscow and St Petersburg. While the distance between these two cities is 650km, it is easy to travel between them by high speed train which only takes 4 hours.

Moscow
The city of Moscow with its ancient history has also developed into a vibrant and thriving city over the last decade.  In ancient Moscow you can marvel at Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral, Novodevichy Cathedral and the Kremlin.  Visit the Ring-Line stations of the Moscow Metro with their painted ceilings, columns, chandeliers and painted scenes on the walls or the Tretyakov Gallery with its unique collection of art.  Or take a full day excursion out to the town of Sergiev Posad to visit the Trinity Lavra of St Sergius, an important Russian monastery.

Take a walk along Arbat Street, Moscow's well known pedestrian street, enjoy an opera or ballet performance at the famous Bolshoi Theatre, an evening at the Old Russian Circus, see Moscow by night on a river cruise or indulge in traditional cuisine including vodka and caviar.

St Petersburg
The city of St Petersburg is also known as the 'Venice of the North'.  You can explore the city's many canals and see fabulous palaces, art galleries and cathedrals.  Visit Peter-Paul Fortress, St. Isaac's Cathedral, St Nicolas Cathedral, Palace Square, Smolny Convent, the Hermitage Museum, St Peterhof Summer Palace with its gardens and fountains, Pushkin Palace (Tsarskoy Selo) and the famous Amber Room, Yusupov Palace, Church of the Spilled Blood and much more.  Enjoy a traditional Russian dinner at a restaurant or folklore show at the Nikolaevsky Palace.
