Day 1  Copenhagen Arrival
Upon arrival, meet your driver at the airport.  Private transfer to your hotel, check-in, then time at leisure. The capital is full of attractions, most of them located within walking distance of the city centre. Perhaps visit the Tivoli Gardens, the old harbour area of Nyhavn, now full of cafes, bars and restaurants, one of the many museums of art, culture, history and design, or stroll the charming pedestrian shopping streets of Strøget

Day 2  Morning or Afternoon Private City Sightseeing Tour 
You can choose to take this privately guided tour in the morning or afternoon. A car, driver and guide, plus hotel pick-up and drop-off are all included.

Enjoy a 4 hour panoramic tour past many of the city’s landmarks such as the Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Palace, Nyhavn old harbour, Christiansborg Palace (seat of the Danish Parliament), Hans Christian Andersen’s statue, Gefion Fountain, Tivoli Gardens, the Stock Exchange and other popular sights. Also included is entrance to beautiful Rosenborg Castle. Built in 1633 of red brick and decorated with sandstone, it is not only a historical building, but also a fascinating cultural history museum. Housing some of Denmark’s greatest treasures, not least the crown jewels and Danish Crown regalia, it tells the history of Danish Kings from Frederik II (late 16thC) to Frederik VII (19thC).

Day 3  Private Food Walking Tour 
Today your specialised local guide takes you on a 2 hour gastronomic tour of Copenhagen, the home of world-renowned Nordic cuisine. Walking at a leisurely pace, the tour takes you around Copenhagen’s oldest parts including Torvehallerne market hall. This culinary experience combines tasty delights with some sightseeing and several stops are made en-route, with the chance to sit down and enjoy the tastings provided. These include samples of organic cheese, a small glass of apple wine, a Bornholmer plate (samples of mustard, biscuits, juice and various sweets), open-faced sandwiches, a taste of beers, bonbons, seasonal spices and herbs, flødebolle (chocolate treats) and water. Welcome to delicious Copenhagen! (please note you must make your own way to/from this tours starting and finishing points)

Day 4  Copenhagen Departure
Private transfer to the airport, where your Copenhagen stay concludes.

* The order of the excursions may vary according to the dates of travel. Rosenborg Castle does close for official functions and on some holidays - if this occurs during the period of your stay you will be offered an alternative excursion.

Roskilde: The charming town of Roskilde was established over 1000 years ago as a Viking trading port and until 1417, it was Denmark’s capital. Visit the beautiful twin-spired Cathedral - the UNESCO World Heritage listed traditional burial place of Denmark’s monarchs, first constructed in the 12th Century and now displaying a unique architectural style that reflects various additions across the years. Also visit the fabulous Viking Ship Hall, displaying the five Viking ships found at nearby at Skuldelev. Duration: 5 hrs

Castles of North Zealand
Travel from Copenhagen passing through rural villages and wooded, undulating countryside to Hillerød, for a visit to Frederiksborg Castle, a beautifully situated Renaissance building built by orders of King Christian IV. Today, Frederiksborg is the home of the Museum of National History, the collection of which includes priceless paintings, silver and porcelain items, furniture and tapestries. The castle chapel houses Denmark’s oldest organ from 1610. From Frederiksborg, drive on to Helsingør, passing en route Fredensborg Palace, built in 1722, the Spring and Autumn residence of the Danish Queen. A brief photographic stop will be made here. Upon arrival in Helsingør you will visit the imposing UNESCO’s listed Kronborg Castle, which was the setting of 'Hamlet', the dramatic masterpiece by William Shakespeare. After Kronborg, return to Copenhagen along the coastal road, passing through small villages, fashionable resorts and some exclusive residential areas on the way. Duration: 8 hrs
