This tour offers a leisurely break in delightful Copenhagen and also in the nearby town of Roskilde. Your accommodation plus a 120 hour Copenhagen Card are included, so you can see the best of the many sights  your own pace.

Day 1 Copenhagen Arrival
Upon arrival in Copenhagen make your own way to your hotel. Time to start exploring with your 5 day Copenhagen Card. This city card offers great value, with entry (or discounts) to over 70 sites and museums,  transport by bus, harbour bus, metro & train throughout Greater Copenhagen, the hop on/hop off open sightseeing bus, bike hire and several canal tours. Discounts for many restaurants & shops are also offered. Accommodation at Comfort Hotel Verterbro or similar for 2 nights.

Day 2 Copenhagen Day at Leisure
Day at leisure for further exploration. Use your card to visit Amalienborg Palace, the Royal Reception Rooms at Christiansborg Palace, or Frederiksborg Palace and the Museum of National History. Take a canal tour, walk down the shopping street Strøget, visit the Nyhavn area of lively bars and restaurants and sample some of the famous new Nordic Cuisine. From mid April to late September a visit to the famous Tivoli Gardens is a must.

Day 3 Copenhagen – Roskilde
The charming town of Roskilde was established over 1000 years ago as a Viking trading port, and until 1417 it was Denmark’s capital. Take the 30 minute train ride from Copenhagen using your card, and enjoy the lovely sights of this university town. Visit beautiful twin - spired Roskilde Cathedral, the UNESCO World Heritage listed traditional burial place of Denmark’s monarchs. The Cathedral, located in Town Square, was first constructed in the 12thC and now displays a unique architectural style that reflects various additions across the years. Make time for a taste of New Nordic cuisine in one of the many cafes and restaurants, or stroll the shops and boutiques of the main pedestrian street. Accommodation at Prinsden Hotel Roskilde or similar for 2 nights. 

Day 4 Roskilde Day at Leisure
Perhaps continue your exploration of Roskilde with a visit to the fantastic Viking Ship Museum where the remains of 5 Viking vessels salvaged from Roskilde Fjord, where they were sunk more than 1000 years ago, are on display together with many more Viking artefacts and treasures. In summer, you have the chance to be part of the crew, aboard a replica vessel at the Viking Ship Museum (book/pay only at the Museum).

Day 5 Roskilde - Copenhagen
Return by train to Copenhagen where your tour concludes.
