Kangerlussuaq is the ideal base for your winter in Greenland adventure! Located 160km from the coast, stable weather conditions and clear skies make it one of the world’s top destinations for viewing the Aurora Borealis. Surrounded by landscapes similar to the Ice Age, where Musk Oxen and reindeer roam free in front of huge glaciers, Kangerlussuaq also offers easy access to the vast Inland Ice Cap. There are lots of exciting optional activities available - a nature tour, 4WD Ice Cap exploration, town sightseeing, a hunt for the Northern Lights and dog-sledding.

Day 1 Copenhagen – Kangerlussuaq
Make your own way to the airport in Copenhagen for your flight to Kangerlussuaq. On arrival in Greenand, meet your local destination guide and walk the short distance to your hotel for check-in. Kangerlussuaq sits at the eastern end of a deep fjord and is home to Greenland's most diverse land fauna including musk oxen, caribou and gyrfalcons.

Explore Kangerlussuaq on your own or join some of the wonderful optional excursions that can only be enjoyed  here:

Your guide will tell you more about the phenomenon of the Northern Lights and the myths it has created throughout time. Delicious Greenlandic coffee is served during the evening. Duration 2.5hrs.

4WD to the Inland Ice Cap: travel by 4WD to the famous Inland Ice Cap and see the an impressive Arctic landscape of glacial valleys, mountains, frozen desert and rivers. En route, stop for a close inspection of the Ice Cap - a 3 million cubic km ice field. Duration: 4-5hrs.
