This tour starts in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, then travels west to the city of Lviv, with its beautiful stone buildings and cobbled streets.  

Day 1 Arrival Kiev
Private transfer from the airport to Hotel Radisson Blu Kyiv or similar; check-in and welcome meeting.

Day 2 Kiev: City sightseing tour and Cave Monastery
Founded in the late 9th Century, Kiev is one of Europe's oldest cities, as well as the cradle of Slavic civilization and Orthodox Christianity. The morning sightseeing tour introduces us to the historic city and all its treasures including St. Vladimir’s Cathedral, Golden Gates, St. Sophia Cathedral, St. Michael’s Golden Domed Monastery, which we reach by cable car, Independence Square, Opera House and St. Andrew’s Cathedral. Afternoon visit to the world famous Cave Monastery featuring amazing architectural monuments, ranging from bell towers to cathedrals to underground cave systems and strong stone fortification walls. In the evening, an optional dinner with folklore music at Restaurant Opanas can be added.

Day 3 Kiev:  Pirogovo Ethnographic  Museum, St. Sophia’s Cathedral & National History Museum
Morning excursion to the large Pirogovo Ethnographic Open Air Museum, where wooden churches, farmsteads, windmills and village architecture from all rural regions across the country will bring us back to the atmosphere of the 18th and 19th Centuries. Afternoon visit to St. Sophia’s Cathedral and the National History Museum. The 11th Century St. Sophia's is a UNESCO Heritage listed, monastery complex with unique ancient frescoes. The visit also includes the Bell Tower, Monks Refectory and Metropolite House. Then on to the National Historical Museum with over 800,000 unique exhibits related to Ukrainian history and culture.

Day 4 Kiev - Lviv; Chernobyl Museum
Early morning visit to the unique Chernobyl Museum dedicated to the 1986 disaster, which signalled the beginning of the end of Soviet Ukraine. Afternoon transfer to the train station to board the modern high-speed train bound for Lviv. Upon arrival in the evening to Lviv check-in at Hotel Dnister or similar.

Day 5 Lviv: City sightseeing tour and Beer Tour
Lviv is known as the centre of West Ukraine, which was never incorporated into imperial Russia but remained part of the Habsburg Empire. Despite its enthralling yet violent history, it still has a unique old-world charm. The morning sightseeing tour takes us to the Old Town complex of stone buildings from the 14th-16th Centuries and includes the Market Square with City House, Black Stone Building, Opera Square, medieval Pharmacy Museum, Kornyakt Palace, Armenian Cathedral, Dominican and Bernardine Cathedrals and beautiful Boim Chapel. Afternoon Beer Tour of Lviv, with the opportunity to learn how craft beer is brewed, on a tour of both a 17th Century and a modern brewery and some tastings of course!

Day 6 Lviv: Olesko Castle and Zolochiv Palace 
Full day tour to castles around Lviv: Olesko Castle dating back to the 13th Century and the residence of Polish Kings, like Jan Sobieski. It features a magnificent collection of old furniture and paintings, a nice park and a museum with beautiful pieces of jewellery and Zolochiv Palace. This wonder of defensive architecture, built in the 17th Century, has served as a fortress and royal residence. In the courtyard we find the Grand and Chinese Palaces. In the evening an optional Carpathian farewell dinner at Restaurant Trout, Bread and Wine can be added.

Day 7 Departure Lviv
Private transfer from the hotel to the airport.
