This short escorted tour offers you one night in Helsinki, then takes you by train through the Finnish countryside and across the Russian border to St Petersburg. Experience the highlights of this wonderful city with all of the fabulous excursions in the itinerary, included in the tour price. 

Day 1 Helsinki Arrival
Arrive at Vantaa Airport and transfer to your hotel. Helsinki is truly located at the crossroads of Western and Eastern culture, and this is reflected everywhere in the green and lively, Finnish capital. Perhaps explore the busy, harbourside market place and the many stands including freshly cooked seafood stalls. Tonight meet your tour escort and fellow travellers at 18:50hrs in the hotel lobby, then enjoy dinner at the hotel. Accommodation at Hotel Haven or similar for 1 night.

Day 2 Helsinki - St Petersburg: River Cruise & St Isaac's Cathedral
Early breakfast, followed by coach transfer from the hotel to the railway station. Departure from Helsinki on the fast 'Allegro' train, bound for St. Petersburg. Travel through the Finnish countryside and enjoy a boxed lunch on the train, before your arrival into St. Petersburg. Then transfer to the pier for a 1 hour guided cruise along the Neva River, together with a visit to the magnificent St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Check-in, followed by a welcome dinner including a shot of vodka and a glass of wine. 3 overnights at Ambassador Hotel or similar.

Day 3 St Petersburg: Peterhof Palace and Hermitage Art Museum
The day begins with a transfer to the river. Hydrofoil to Peterhof for a guided tour including the Grand Palace and lower parks, with their glorious fountains. After returning to the city, lunch at a local restaurant before a guided tour of the world-famous Hermitage Art Museum and the Winter Palace's State Rooms. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 4 St Petersburg: Panoramic City Sightseeing, Catherine's Palace, Amber Room & Folklore Show
This morning transfer to the charming, wooded town of Pushkin, followed by a visit to Catherine’s Palace including the famous Amber R0oom. After lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy a 3 hour panoramic city tour. St. Petersburg is a place of outstanding architectural beauty, with magnificent palaces, cathedrals, fountains and bridges. The tour includes sights such as the Square of Arts, Russian Museum, Cathedral of Our Saviour on Spilt Blood, Griboedov canal, Nevsky Prospect, Palace Square with the Winter Palace, Basil’s Island spit,  Menshikov Palace, Senate Square and the Bronze Horseman. A stop is also made at Peter & Paul Fortress.  This evening, be entertained by a colourful Russian folklore show at Nikolaevsky Palace, with snacks during the intermission. Dinner at the Dostoevsky Restaurant or similar.

Day 5 St Petersburg Departure
Your arrangements end today with your transfer to St. Petersburg Airport.
