Enjoy the magic of Norway's landscape of fjords, waterfalls, mountains and glaciers, and experience it's vibrant culture and unique Viking history. Your tour includes 2 nights in Bergen, a cruise along the stunning Aurlandsfjord and Sogneford, 2 nights in beautiful Balestrand with a Fjaerland Glacier excursion, travel on the famous Flamsbana Train between Flam and Myrdal, and 2 nights in Oslo. There will be a tour leader following the route of the tour from Bergen to Oslo. So don’t worry about having vouchers for hotels or trains, these will be taken care of, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
Itinerary
Day 1 Bergen Arrival
Welcome to The Kingdom of Norway – a country with the most beautiful fjords on Earth. Arrival in Bergen and transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Zander K or similar.
Day 2 Bergen City Sightseeing
Discover Bergen, gateway to the fjords of Norway. As a UNESCO World Heritage City, Bergen has the ideal mix of nature, culture and exciting urban life. After breakfast, meet your local guide at the reception of your hotel and enjoy a walking tour of the city. Pass through the Hanseatic Bryggen, with St Mary's Church, Haakon Fortress and the famous Fish and Flower Markets. Afternoon at leisure - perhaps add an optional Floibanen return ticket and Bergen Food tour 3hrs. Second overnight at Hotel Zander K or similar.
Day 3 Bergen - Sognefjord - Balestrand
Morning walk to Bergen port and embark on a ferry to Balestrand. Enjoy the views of Sognefjord - King of Fjords. Midday arrival in Balestrand. Short walk from pier to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Kvikne's Hotel or similar.
Day 4 Sognefjord - Fjaerland Glacier Day
After breakfast, depart on a full day excursion to Fjaerland, including Boyabreen, Supphellebreen and a visit to the Norwegian Glacier Museum. Cruise through beautiful Fjaerland fjord with amazing views of steep mountains, green fjords and vibrant landscape. Arrive at Fjaerland where the glacier meets the fjord. Shuttle bus transfer to the Norwegian Glacier Museum (entry included). Continue by coach to the two glaciers - Supphellebreen and Boyabreen - before returning by coach to Fjaerland and by boat to Balestrand. Second dinner and overnight at Kvikne's Hotel or similar.
Day 5 Balestrand - Norway in a Nutshell - Oslo
Midday departure by ferry along the Sognefjord and Aurlandsfjord to Flam, where you will have some free time to discover this beautiful village. Afternoon departure by train to Myrdal mountain railway station and junction. Board the famous Flamsbana, and travel on one of the steepest trainlines in the world. The train journey runs through fantastic nature, steep mountains, breathtaking waterfalls and tunnels between the mountain and the fjord. Late evening arrival into Oslo. A short walk from Oslo station to Clarion Hotel the Hub or similar.
Day 6 Oslo City Sightseeing
Meet your local guide at the reception of the hotel late morning and depart on a City sightseeing tour by bus, including Frogner Park with Vigeland sculptures, the Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress. Second overnight at Clarion Hotel the Hub or similar.
Day 7 Oslo Departure
Transfer from hotel to airport and end of arrangements.
