Enjoy an unforgettable New Year’s Eve! You will visit Tromso, the biggest Scandinavian city, North of the Arctic Circle. From Tromso you will move to the magical Wilderness Camp Tamok, located in the enormous Lapland tundra. In these wild and mysterious lands, Winter offers the best chance to experience the Polar Night and the magical Northern Lights. Celebrating the end and the beginning of the year at Wilderness Camp Tamok will also give you the opportunity to drive your "own" team of huskies in white and totally uninhabited landscapes. Make New Year’s Eve extra special by sleeping in a traditional “Lavvu” (Sami herdsmen’s tent), on top of several reindeer skins.

29 Dec Tromso
Arrival in Tromso and self transfer to your hotel. Tromso has two special “nicknames”: it is known as ‘Paris of the North’ - due to direct trade connections with France during the 19th century- and as “the Gateway to the Arctic”, because for many decades this city has been the centre for arctic hunting and the starting point for the most famous Arctic expeditions. Remainder of day is at leisure to discover Tromso, perhaps visit the Arctic Cathedral that with its large, angular form and light color can easily be associated with an iceberg. You can also enjoy a visit to Polaria, an adventure centre with themes from the Polar Regions. If the weather is not too cloudy, you may also decide to take the famous “Fjellheisen” (cable car) that will take you to Storsteinen (Big Rock) on mount Fløya, 421 meters above sea level. The trip takes four minutes. From here you can enjoy the view of Tromso and the surrounding islands and fjords. Overnight at 4*hotel in Tromso city centre.

30 Dec  Tromso – Aurora Hunt
Breakfast at the hotel and the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. This evening we have a highlight planned - pick up in front of Scandic Ishavshotel by minibus and go on a chase for the magical Northern lights. With good local knowledge your guides will find the best area for possibly sighting the lights and good scenery for your pictures. During the evening your guide will tell you interesting stories about the Northern lights, both the science and the folklore. Overnight at 4*hotel in Tromso city centre.

31 Dec  Lyngsfjord – Northern Lights Hunt & New Year Wilderness Camp
Breakfast at the hotel and morning is at leisure. Perhaps visit the Polar Museum, that presents the polar seafaring tradition of the city, or the Tromso Museum, with Sami culture, archaeology, church and Northern Lights exhibition. This afternoon, at 17:00 hours you will depart by bus to Wilderness Camp Tamok – arrival at the camp at approximately 18:00 hours. You will spend the New Year’s Eve in the Arctic Alps and fjords of Norway, experiencing the Northern Lights in the heart of the Lyngen area of Sami Lapland. A 3-course dinner and snacks are served during the evening, and your guide will entertain you with stories around an open camp fire. To end the year in an unforgettable way, you will have the choice to overnight in a "Lavvu" Sami tent or a Timber cabin where you will sleep in winter sleeping bags, on top of several reindeer skins. Optional: upgrade to private accommodation for overnight stay. At midnight you will send Chinese lanterns to the sky to welcome 2020 and make your wishes! Happy New Year!

01 Jan  Lyngsfjord – Husky Safari
After a night under the stars and the Northern Lights, it’s time to rise and shine and enjoy a breakfast. At around 10:30 hours you’ll get the necessary equipment to be ready to drive your "own" dog team during your day excursion. You will say hello to a bunch of barking huskies that are ready for action. The dog sledding adventure starts with meeting the dogs and preparing for the trip. You will receive instructions on how to drive the sled. Then you will drive the dog sled into the white landscapes, totally uninhabited, with mountains and forest landscapes. Out in the wild these dogs are in their right environment, and you will experience a unique excursion in this special place. Insulated body suits, boots, gloves and headwear are included in the service. You need no previous skills and the excursion is just as easy as it is fun. Departure from Lyngsfjord at 14:30 hours by bus arrival time in Tromso at 16:00 hours. Overnight at 4*hotel in Tromso city centre.
