This great tour offers the best of Winter in Lapland. Over 8 days, enjoy a husky safari and sled ride, visit a traditional reindeer farm including a reindeer sleigh ride, an exciting snowmobile tour to feel the speed of the snow, snowshoeing and cross country skiing, ice fishing and more.

Day 1 Arrival
On arrival at Kittila Airport transfer to Hotel Jeris in Muonio - the transfer time is approximately 45 minutes. 

Day 2 Husky Safari & Northern Lights
This morning transfer to the nearby husky farm to meet the eager huskies, enjoy a tour of the farm and then take a 15 km dog sledding safari, with 2 persons sharing the driving of each sled. Lunch will be served in the hotel restaurant.  In the afternoon, your guide will tell you more about the fascinating phenomenon of the northern lights, and the science & myths behind it. Dinner in the hotel restaurant. This evening, perhaps visit the Arctic Spa and Smoke sauna.

Day 3  Snowshoe Walk and Ice Fishing
Breakfast in the hotel restaurant. This morning enjoy a guided snowshoe walk, to try out one of the oldest modes of Lapland transportation. Afterwards lunch is served in the restaurant. In the afternoon the guide will take you to the lake to try your luck with ice-fishing. Return to the hotel and time to relax in a warm sauna. Dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 4 Reindeer Farm Visit and Sled Ride, Lunch in the Ice Restaurant  
After breakfast, transfer the short distance to the Torassieppi Reindeer farm, a unique, 100 year old Lappish farmhouse and small museum. Try your reindeer herder skills in lasso-throwing and then enjoy a 3km reindeer sleigh ride through the forest, in landscapes right next to the Pallas-Ylläs national park. Then a short walk to the winter village with its fabulous ice restaurant, bar, sculptures, and impressive snow buildings. Lunch is served in the ice restaurant.  Note: lunch in the Ice Restaurant is weather dependent. If the Ice Restaurant has not been completed or it is extremely cold, lunch will be served around a fire in a traditional kota instead. Return to the hotel for a traditional dinner around the open fire. 

Day 5 Cross Country Skiing & Snowmobile Adventure
After breakfast we are off on cross-country skis. The skiing tracks starts right next to the hotel and you will learn the basics of cross-country skiing with your guide. Lunch will be served in the restaurant. In the afternoon, meet your snowmobile instructor who will give you snowmobile driving and safety instructions. Then start your engines and follow the guide through the snow covered forests, over frozen lakes and creeks and along perfect fell scenery. The driving distance is about 30 km and you will drive with 2 persons per snowmobile.

Days 6  Day at Leisure and traditional Lappish dinner
Today, relax in the hotel grounds, visit the Arctic Spa and Smoke sauna, or hire snowshoes or cross country skis and go out on your own. Lunch will be served in the hotel restaurant or you can opt to have a packed lunch box to take out with you. Dinner at the hotel restaurant. 

Day 7  Day at Leisure and traditional Lappish dinner
Day at leisure.  Or perhaps take one of the optional activities such as a horse riding safari, ice karting and much more.  Tonight, celebrate your adventure with a fabulous dinner, where some unique Lappish specialities are served.

Day 8 Departure
Following breakfast this morning, your tour concludes with your transfer back to Kittilä airport.

Snow Igloo Overnight
Spend an extraordinary night in a traditional snow igloo! Igloos have been used in the Northern countries for accommodation during centuries. The temperature outside can drop down to minus thirty degrees and your double bed is made of snow, but the inside temperature stays moderate. Soft and warm mattress, thick sleeping bags and hot juice ensure a warm and comfortable night. The night will be memorable! Transfers, Sleeping bags, hot drink and breakfast included.

Aurora Glamping Overnight
Try "glamping" or glamour camping under the northern lights! The Aurora Dome is a luxury tent, a very comfortable way to spend a night in the wilderness. The tent has a cozy bed and a fireplace, and see through side walls so you can gaze towards the northern sky with a view over the Torasjärvi Lake. The scenery to the untouched Lappish wilderness is breathtaking even on cloudy nights!  Sauna, toilet and shower facilities are located nearby (50 metres away).  Transfers, private Aurora Dome and breakfast included. 

Tour Notes: The excursions operate with a minimum of 2 persons - if you are a solo traveller and there is no second person booked on an excursion, you may be required to pay additional fees in order for the excursion to proceed. Please note the order of the excursions may alter. All optional excursions must be pre-booked. Some excursions subject to minimum age & height requirements. 

Snowmobile Safaris: To drive a snowmobile you must have a valid driving license and be 18 years of age or over. All single travellers must drive their own snowmobile solo. Children under 18 years sit in a sled pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Children under 4 are not permitted on snowmobile safaris. Please note in the event of extreme weather or poor trail conditions small children may not be allowed to participate in safaris.

Husky Safaris: Older children may be able to drive a husky team themselves but this depends on the child’s size and other factors. The guide has the discretion to decide who may or may not drive a husky sled and who must sit in the guide’s sled. Children 4 –12 years sit in the guide’s sled during safaris. Children under 4 are not permitted on husky safaris. Please note in the event of extreme weather or poor trail conditions small children may not be allowed to participate in safaris
