A week full of Lappish culture, local food and a selection of activities. Based in the small exclusive resort of Torassieppi, including an overnight stay in an Aurora Dome.

Day 1  Kittila Arrival
Arrival at Kittila airport and transfer to Torassieppi. Dinner in the restaurant. 

Day 2  Local Culture, Reindeer Farm & Aurora Campfire
This morning, your guide will lead you to the reindeer farm which is a short walk from your accommodation. You will be introduced to the reindeer herder who will take you for a short ride on a reindeer sled and give you an insight into the life of the reindeer. Visit the traditional guest house and museum, to catch a rare glimpse into what life was like this far North before roads and motorised vehicles. Lunch is served in a traditional Lappish kota around a fire. Afternoon at leisure to relax or take a walk round the Winter village with ice bar, restaurant and snow rooms. Dinner will be served in the restaurant. In the evening your guide will tell you more about the fascinating phenomenon of the Northern Lights, followed by a trip to a nearby viewing spot. Here you will build a camp fire, toast marshmallows and enjoy hot chocolate around the fire while waiting for the lights to hopefully make an appearance.

Day 3  Husky adventure, Local cooking & Aurora Dome overnight
Morning Husky Safari on an exciting 15km ride over the lakes, 2 persons share each dog sled. Lunch will be served in the restaurant. In the early evening you will join your guide in the kota, learning how to cook like a local. The dishes will be served for dinner this evening in the kota. After dinner you can head to your own Aurora Dome for a cosy night with wood burning stove, panoramic view of the lake and with a little luck, the Northern Lights!

Day 4  Local skills & Horse Sleigh ride
Morning at leisure. In the afternoon you will join the guide for some Lappish fun. Learn how to build a fire, make real Finnish coffee, ice fish, taste local food and drink and pay Lappish roulette. Dinner will be served in the restaurant, followed by a Horse Sleigh ride through the silent landscapes while watching for the Northern Lights.

Day 5  Snowmobiles & Husky Farm visit
After breakfast it is snowmobile time! Your guide will give a full briefing and safety demo before you head out on this 40km safari to the Harriniva Husky Farm, one of the largest husky farms in the world. Lunch at Harriniva Hotel before returning to Torassieppi. Dinner will be served in the restaurant.

Day 6  Snowshoe Walk, Arctic Spa & Shaman evening
This morning your guide will taking you by minibus to the Pallas fell area, known for its breathtaking beauty. Visit the nature centre to learn more about the area before taking a snowshoe walk to enjoy the surroundings. Then on to Jeris to enjoy a hearty lunch and relaxation in the Arctic Spa at the shore of the Jeris lake. A chance to swim in the ice pool and warm up in the traditional smoke sauna. Dinner will be served in the restaurant followed by the Mystic Lapland program. A shaman awaits to hold a ceremony for your time in the Arctic Circle along with a local drink and snack round the open fire.

Day 7  Day at leisure
Day at leisure for relaxation or optional activities. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in the restaurant.

Day 8  Kittila departure
Arrangements end with your transfer back to Kittila airport.

This tour is only offered for persons aged 12 years or over. Please note that children under 18 years cannot drive the snowmobile or husky team. They will be sitting in the guide’s sled during the safaris.

The order of the activities may change according to weather and other factors.

Extend your stay with an optional overnight in a Snow Igloo:
Spend an extraordinary night in a traditional snow igloo! Igloos have been used in the Northern countries for accommodation during centuries. The temperature outside can drop down to minus thirty degrees and your double bed is made of snow, but the inside temperature stays moderate. Soft and warm mattress, thick sleeping bags and hot juice ensure a warm and comfortable night. The night will be memorable! Transfers, Sleeping bags, dinner, hot drinks and breakfast included.

Tour Notes: 
The small size of Torassieppi ensures a cosy village atmosphere. The double rooms are located right next to the main building by Lake Toras-Sieppi, all with private facilities.

The peaceful cabins with fireplace are suitable for 4 people and have two separate bedrooms, private facilities, fireplace and kitchenette. The slightly larger cabins for 4-6 people also offer a sauna and a living room with the possibility for an extra bed for two.

The Aurora Dome is a luxury tent, a very comfortable way to spend a night in the wilderness. The tent has a cosy bed and fireplace, and see through side walls so you can gaze towards the northern sky with a view over the Torasjarvi Lake. The scenery to the untouched Lappish wilderness is breathtaking even on cloudy nights!  Sauna, toilet and shower facilities are located nearby (50 metres away).

The excursions operate with a minimum of 2 persons - if you are a solo traveller and there is no second person booked on an excursion, you may be required to pay additional fees in order for the excursion to proceed. Please note the order of the excursions may alter.

Snowmobile Safaris: To drive a snowmobile you must have a valid driving license and be 18 years of age or over. All single travellers must drive their own snowmobile solo.
