Explore two capitals independently, travelling from Helsinki to Stockholm by overnight ferry. This tour can be done in reverse or add extra nights and additional excursions along the way - please enquire.

Day 1 Helsinki Arrival
Upon arrival in Helsinki make your own way to the Sokos Vaakuna Hotel or similar and check in for 2 nights. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 2 Helsinki City Sightseeing by Bus
During today's panoramic coach tour of the city you will see Helsinki's most interesting sights including the historical centre, City Hall, Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, the Parliament Building and Finlandia Hall, and if possible, Temppeliaukio Church (the Rock Church). If the church is closed for a service, you will instead stop at The Sibelius Monument. Remainder of the day at leisure, or perhaps an optional excursion

Day 3 Helsinki – Stockholm by Overnight Ferry
Day at leisure. Late this afternoon, make your own way to the cruise-ship terminal, where you will embark on a journey to Stockholm. Overnight on board in an outside cabin with private facilities.

Day 4 Stockholm Arrival
Welcome to Stockholm, a city surrounded by almost 30,000 small islands. Morning disembarkation make your own way to the Scandic Klara Hotel or similar and check in for 2 nights. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 5 Stockholm City Sightseeing by Bus
Today enjoy city sightseeing by bus through the city’s districts, past famous buildings and landmarks. Remainder of the day at leisure or time for an optional excursion.

Day 6 Stockholm Departure
Arrangements end after breakfast.

Helsinki – Canal Route by Boat 1.5hrs (daily, May – Sep)
Cruise to see the most beautiful shorelines in Helsinki and many fabulous sights, including the historic Suomenlinna Maritime Fortress, Helsinki Zoo on Korkeasaari Island, the impressive fleet of icebreakers and Degero Canal. Along the way you will also learn about Helsinki’s fascinating history.

Helsinki – Wooden Town of Porvoo by Bus 4.5hrs (Wed, Fri, Sat, mid Jun – late Aug)
Guided tour from Helsinki by bus to the idyllic town of Porvoo with its well-preserved wooden houses and picturesque cobble-stoned streets. Enjoy a guided walk in Porvoo, see the Old Town of and the beautiful medieval cathedral. Time to explore delightful shops and craftsmen's workshops before returning to Helsinki.

Helsinki – Finnish Lakes and Forests by Bus 4hrs (Tue, Thu, late Jun – late Aug)
Guided tour from Helsinki by bus to Nuuksio National Park to discover Finnish nature, lakes and forests. Enjoy a guided walk in the forest and a visit to the Nature Centre Haltia before returning to Helsinki.

Helsinki – Day trip to Medieval Tallinn 10hrs (daily, all year)
Departure by ferry from Helsinki for Tallinn, Estonia's capital, in the morning. City tour by car with English speaking guide to the important sights. Walking tour of the Old Town, a compact maze of cobblestone streets, historical buildings and breathtaking vistas. Lunch is served in one of the charming Old Town restaurants. Time at leisure to explore the shops and sights on your own before a transfer to the harbour and return journey to Helsinki.

Helsinki – 48 hour Helsinki Pass (daily, all year)
The Helsinki Card provides you with a complete guidebook and excellent maps, free travel on public transport (trams, metro, busses, train, boats to islands), free entry to many museums and major sights.

Stockholm – Under the Bridges of Stockholm by Boat 2.15hr (daily, Mid Apr – early Nov)
Travel under fifteen bridges and pass through two locks connecting the Baltic Sea with Lake Malaren. Pass many of the city’s sights as you slide by the different parts of Stockholm. Out the window you will see the inner city, Old Town, the islands Sodermalm, Lilla and Stora Essingen, the new area Hammarby Sjostad and the green areas of Djurgarden.

Stockholm – Royal Canal Tour by Boat 50min (daily, early Apr – mid Dec)
Depart from Stromkajen in the centre of Stockholm going out through the peaceful Djurgarden canal. Pass beautiful and famous buildings, with a fabulous view of the Stockholm skyline – only to be seen from the water.

Stockholm - Drottningholm by Boat 5-7hrs (daily, late Mar – late Oct)
Drottningholm is situated on an island in a small inlet of Lake Malaren. A magnificent turn of the century ship will take you from central Stockholm out to the royal residence Drottningholm in one hour one way. The journey itself is a great way to experience Stockholm and its surroundings from the water. The Drottningholm Palace is on UNESCO´s World Heritage list. It is the most well-preserved royal castle built in the 1600s in Sweden and at the same time is representative of all European architecture for the period. The Chinese Pavilion is a remarkable treasure in the majestic grounds of Drottningholm. The Chinese Pavilion was built in the middle of the 1700s, a period in European history when chinoiserie was the height of fashion. Entrance included. The tour is not guided.

Stockholm – Nordic Food Walk 4hrs (Mon-Sat, all year except National holidays)
The many and diverse market halls are perfect examples of classic and modern cuisine. Visit Gamla Stan and Ostermalms Saluhall to indulge in authentic Swedish gastronomy and visit some of the trendiest dining places in town. The walking distance is 4 km, at a leisurely pace with Fika, samples and sitting along the way.
