Welcome to Swedish Lapland. Plus enjoy two nights in beautiful Stockholm and an overnight train to Swedish Lapland.

Itinerary

Day 1 Stockholm Arrival

Upon arrival in Stockholm, make your own way to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure to explore. Stockholm, the 'Beauty on the Water', is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful capitals in the world, built on 14 islands and protected from the sea by the Skargarden archipelago. Explore Gamla Stan's charming, narrow cobbled streets, take a canal cruise (in summer), see the Royal Palace, the Parliament Buildings, or the City Hall with its famous Blue Hall and Golden Room. Two nights in Stockholm at Clarion Amaranten or Scandic Downtown Camper or similar.

Day 2 Stockholm Day at Leisure

Breakfast at the hotel then continue your exploration of the city today. There are many different parts to discover, all with their own characteristics. Perhaps put on your walking shoes and go for a stroll to the park of Kungsträdgården and continue down towards the water. Or visit Djurgården Island and the great 17th century warship at the Vasa Museum, or maybe see Skansen Open-Air Museum, Gröna Lund Amusement Park and more. 2nd overnight in Stockholm.

Day 3 Stockholm Day at Leisure and overnight train to Boden

Breakfast at the hotel and a final chance to see the many charming sights. This evening make your own way to the railway station to take the overnight train from Stockholm to Boden, with accommodation in a private sleeping compartment.

Day 4 Boden Arrival and Overnight Treehotel

Morning arrival in Boden and transfer to the fabulous Treehotel. With six unique treerooms, built and designed by some of Scandinavia's leading architects, each room is unique - not only the architecture but also the furniture, lighting and fabrics are custom designed. The Treehotel is located in the tall pine forest with spectacular views of the Lule River and the tree rooms are suspended 4-6m above the ground, accessible by ramp, bridge, or electric stairs. The daily operations as well as the Tree Rooms construction are all environmentally friendly, aiming for minimal impact on nature.

Upon arrival check-in at The Guesthouse, the hotel's main building. Whilst waiting to access your tree room later in the day, you can enjoy the restaurant, bar, sauna and relaxation area with TV, and internet available here. Remainder of day at leisure or perhaps add a fabulous optional excursion. In summer, these include a guided tour of Treehotel, guided hiking, a moose safari, a visit to the nearby rapids, fishing and sea kayaking. In winter, you can try snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, fat biking or cross country skiing.

Later today take the 500m walk along the well prepared trail through both coniferous and deciduous forests, to your Treeroom, while your luggage is delivered for you. Overnight in a tree room; all tree rooms have a toilet, electricity, underfloor heating, air conditioning, coffee maker, water kettle, fresh drinking water, refrigerators, WiFi, and a sustainable water system for handwashing. The Dragonfly and The 7th Room also have their own showers.

Day 5 Treehotel - Arctic Bath Hotel

This morning enjoy a sauna and shower at the nearby facilities then breakfast in the Guesthouse, before the short transfer to the Arctic Bath Hotel. This newly opened hotel sits in a stunning location on the shore of the Lule River and has a spectacular floating spa with a giant ice bath, treatment rooms and a hot spa. Enjoy the many delightful optional spa treatments offered which include massage or facial treatments. Or perhaps add a fabulous optional excursion. In summer, these include kayaking, wildlife safaris, horseriding, or Sami culutural experiences. In winter, you can try dog sledding, ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and more. Overnight with dinner at Arctic Bath Hotel.

Day 6 Arctic Bath Hotel - Icehotel and Overnight in Ice Room

Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Lulea train station, then travel by train to Kiruna. Here you will be transferred by bus to the original Icehotel, 200km north of the Arctic Circle. Every winter the Icehotel creates wondrous Ice Rooms and Suites, using vast blocks of ice harvested from the nearby River Torne. Built in different stages, upon completion the Icehotel has individual rooms & suites, some with uniquely hand-crafted, ice & snow sculptures, an ice chapel & the famous Absolut Ice Bar.

The Icehotel also has Ice Rooms all year round, so even if you are travelling outside of winter you can experience a night in a -5° C rooms! Sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on reindeer skins, in quiet and comfort. Overnight in an Ice Room at Icehotel 365 with changing rooms, toilets and saunas right nearby in the warm section of the hotel.

Day 7 Icehotel and Overnight in Warm Room

After a unique night you are awakened with a cup of hot lingonberry juice at your bedside. Enjoy a morning sauna then breakfast before a day at leisure. Or perhaps add an optional excursion - these include in summer river rafting, guided river sightseeing and hiking; and in winter searches for the Northern Lights by snowmobile, a reindeer-sleigh ride with a glimpse of Sami culture, dog-sledding, Ice Sculpting, horseback riding, Northern Lights Photo tours or cross country ski or snowshoe hire. Overnight in warm hotel room accommodation at the Icehotel.

Day 8 Icehotel Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kiruna airport and end of arrangements.
