Copenhagen is one of the best small cities in the world. With a history that dates back to 1043, the city is full of cultural landmarks, beautiful and significant buildings, charming waterways, interesting sights and museums. Walk down the shopping street Strøget, visit the Nyhavn area of lively bars and restaurants and sample some of the famous new Nordic Cuisine! Your tour arrangements include accommodation, guided city sightseeing by coach and boat, and a guided excursion to historic Frederiksborg and Kronborg Castles.

Day 1 Copenhagen: Arrival
On arrival, make your own way to your hotel; time at leisure. Copenhagen, the capital city of the Kingdom of Denmark since 1417, is one of Europe's most ancient capitals. It also has a royal touch - the monarchy in Denmark is the oldest in the world. This is a place where old fairytales blend with innovative new architecture and world class design. It is also considered one of the world's most environmentally friendly cities and one of the best places to cycle. Most of the city's attractions can be reached on foot or bike, offering the opportunity to experience a lot of things in a short time. 3 nights in Copenhagen at Hotel Alexandra or similar.

Day 2 Copenhagen: City Sightseeing by Coach and Boat
Today enjoy a 3 hour combination sightseeing tour by coach and canal boat. Pass many of the city’s statues and landmarks such as the Tivoli Gardens, Christiansborg Palace and the Round Tower. Arrive at the Little Mermaid for a photo stop, before reaching the Royal Residence of Amalienborg Palace and the Changing of the Guards Ceremony. Then board your vessel for a canal tour around the harbour and idyllic waterways, past beautiful churches, castles, listed houses and modern architecture, including the Opera House, Black Diamond, old Stock Exchange, Our Saviour’s Church and more.

Day 3 Copenhagen: Frederiksborg and Kronborg Castles
Today’s 6.5 hour guided tour visits the fabulous Frederiksborg and Kronborg Castles, with a photo stop along the way at Fredensborg Castle. This is a great way to see the countryside to the north of the city as you travel through the Danish Riviera, with views across the Øresund Strait to the coast of Sweden. The first stop is Hillerød and magnificent Frederiksborg Castle, including the Chapel of Orders, Knight’s Hall and the National History Museum’s Royal Art Collection. Continue to the Royal summer residence, Fredensborg Castle, for a brief photo stop. Our next stop is at Helsingør (Elsinore) to visit impressive Kronborg Castle, the setting for Shakespeare’s Hamlet. It was built between 1574 and 1585 to protect Danish interests and to collect tolls from ships passing through the narrow strait. Then we return to the city.
