The Old Town is a busy and vibrant place with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafés and restaurants. The sightseeing tour takes you around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town where you will see Toompea Castle, the Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the medieval Old Town Hall. In the afternoon you can enjoy a privately guided three hour optional excursion to Kadriorg Park and KUMU, the award winning Estonian art museum. Pick up at your hotel and travel from Tallinn to Kadriorg Park. Start with a visit to the marvellous park at the Palace with its Baroque flower garden, Swan Pond and smaller park, as well as the historic buildings such as the Summer House, Kitchen House and Guard House, that surround the palace. Then visit the Kumu (KUnstiMUuseum) Art Museum and its exhibition halls. 2nd overnight in Tallinn.
After breakfast, transfer from your hotel to Tallinn harbour, for departure on the ferry to Helsinki. On arrival in Helsinki, disembark and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Time at leisure - explore the busy market place or the many design shops. Perhaps visit the Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, Parliament House, Finlandia Hall, the New Opera House, the Sibelius Park & Monument, the Church in the Rock and the harbourside fish stalls and cafes. Today after breakfast meet your private guide for a Helsinki walking tour. On this tour you will see the some of the city's main sights such as the Helsinki Cathedral, buildings of the Helsinki University and library, Council of States, Bank of Finland, House of Estates, the State Archives, House of Nobilities, Main Guard Building and the Presidential Palace.In the afternoon, time at leisure to explore further on your own. Or perhaps take an optional sightseeing trip by boat through the city's canals (1.5hrs), or one of the privately guided optional tours available - a visit to Suomenlinna Fortress Island by ferry with a 1hr guided walk on the island, a city tour including a walking tour of the old town (3hrs), or a visit to Porvoo (4hrs). 2nd overnight in Helsinki.
This morning after breakfast, transfer to the railway station and depart on the Allegro train for the 3-4 hour journey to St. Petersburg. Complete customs and immigration processing on the train while you relax in your seat. On arrival in St. Petersburg, transfer to your hotel for check in. In the afternoon, enjoy some of the great optional activities offered which include visits to the Hermitage Art Museum (4hrs) or Peterhof Park and Grand Palace (5hrs). Two nights in St. Petersburg.
