Day 1 Copenhagen Arrival

Shared arrival transfer from Copenhagen Airport to the hotel. Time at leisure in this wonderful city. A short welcome meeting will be held in the evening with your Tour Leader. Accommodation for two nights in Copenhagen at the Skt Petri Hotel or similar.

Day 2 Copenhagen: City Sightseeing, Optional Rosenborg Castle and Tivoli Gardens  

Copenhagen, Scandinavia's largest and most lively city, is one of Europe's most romantic capitals with its old castles, churches, harbours and squares. The morning panoramic sightseeing tour begins with a drive towards the City Hall Square where the famous pedestrian street “Stroeget” begins. Passing by Tivoli Gardens and onwards past the New Carlsberg Glyptotheque and the National Museum. Next, it is the Old Stock Exchange and the Naval Church. We drive past the Kings New Square, the home of the Royal Danish Theatre with the world-famous ballet, then through the old canal area, Nyhavn, with is picturesque houses and boats. We continue to the impressive Gefion Fountain and the Royal residence, Amalienborg Palace. Finally, we stop by the landmark of Copenhagen, the statue of the Little Mermaid. During the tour, you will also see Christiansborg Palace from the outside, as well as Rosenborg Castle.

Optional Rosenborg Castle excursion: a fairytale-like Renaissance palace in central Copenhagen, surrounded by enchanting gardens. It is famous for housing a beautiful collection of Danish crown jewels. Built by Danish king Christian IV, “the Builder King”, in 1606 as a country summerhouse, it is one of the most stunning examples of Christian IV’s numerous architectural projects. The museum in the palace is divided into two parts: the palace interiors and the cellars where the crown jewels are displayed. Includes Metro ticket, entrance fee and guide. Duration 1.5hrs.

Optional evening Tivoli Gardens excursion: located in the heart of Copenhagen, Tivoli Park is one of the main attractions of the city. The amusement park was founded in 1843 and offers beautiful gardens, historic buildings, the wooden rollercoaster from 1914, numerous rides and more then 30 restaurants. The Park has several music venues and a pantomime theatre, offering concerts and plays throughout the day. At night, thousands of lights create an amazing and unique atmosphere. Includes one-way transfer, entrance fee and guided walk through the park. Duration 2.5hrs. Return to the hotel on your own.

2nd overnight in Copenhagen at the Skt Petri Hotel or similar.

Day 3 Copenhagen - Oslo by Overnight Ferry: Optional visit to Kronborg Castle and Helsingor 

Morning at leisure.

Optional Kronborg Castle and Helsingor excursion: One of Northern Europe’s finest renaissance castles which has been added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage sites, Kronborg Castle has also been home to one of the most renowned princes in literary history - Shakespeare's Danish Prince Hamlet. Shakespeare never visited Kronborg himself but had no doubt heard the rumours of the riotous life in the castle from the many actors who performed there. Includes coach transport, entrance fee and local guide. Duration 5hrs.

Afternoon departure for the wharf and embarkation on the overnight ferry to Oslo. Staying in an outside cabin with private facilities, buffet dinner and breakfast is also included. The ferry has bars, shops and more to enjoy.  

Day 4 Oslo - Eidfjord: Landscapes and Mountain Resorts

Morning arrival in Oslo and disembarkation. Continue by private coach to the beautiful landscapes of Hønefoss and Nesbyen, which alternate between pine forests and lakes, then arrive in lovely Hallingdal Valley. Proceed through the villages of Gol and Geilo, a small resort town surrounded by mountains. Onwards to Hardangervidda and a visit to Voringfossen waterfall, before arriving in Eidfjord. Overnight in Eidfjord at Hotel Voringfoss or similar.

Day 5 Eidfjord - Bergen

This morning takes us further into Norway's breathtaking countryside, as we cross Hardangerfjord over Hardanger Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridge spans in the world. On the other side we pass Nordheimsund, then travel through birch forests to reach Bergen, the Capital of the Fjords. Situated on a peninsula and surrounded by seven mountains, the city's history is closely connected with the sea and trade. Upon arrival, enjoy a small fish tasting in the traditional Fish Market. Afterwards, a panoramic sightseeing tour, during which we will admire the exterior of St Mary’s Church, Haakon’s Hall and the old Bryggen area. Also visit the wooden Fantoft Church (entrance included). Evening at leisure to explore more of Bergen, try local restaurants, or simply relax and enjoy the city at your own pace. Overnight in Bergen at the Clarion Collection Havnekontoret or similar.   

Day 6 Bergen - Flåm Railway - Hemsedal

This morning the coach continues down the Naeroy valley to Gudvangen where you will embark on a ferry along the Naeroyfjord, one of the narrowest fjord journeys in Norway. Disembark in the stunning village of Flåm where you will to enjoy a tour with the famous panoramic Flåm Railway. Flåmsbana is one of the steepest train lines in the world. The 2 hour train journey runs through dramatic nature, past the Rallar road, steep mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, 20 tunnels and offers a multitude of views. In the span of a single hour, the train takes you from the ocean level at the Sognefjord in Flåm, to the mountaintop at Myrdal mountain station on Hardangervidda, 863m above the ocean. Continue to Hemsedal. Overnight in Hemsedal at Fyri Resort.

Day 7 Hemsedal - Oslo: City Walk

The journey from Hemsedal to Oslo offers a breathtaking view through Norway's stunning natural landscapes. Be treated to picturesque views and diverse scenery along the way. Norway is renowned for its fjords, and you might catch glimpses of these deep, narrow inlets of the sea en-route. Reach Oslo early afternoon. Evening leisurely walking tour ending in the lively Aker Brygge area, which is a perfect spot for dinner and people-watching. Accommodation for two nights in Oslo at the Grand Hotel Oslo or similar.

Day 8 Oslo City Sightseeing and Optional Kon-Tiki and Fram Museum

Morning city sightseeing tour with a local guide, who will share the many beautiful spots of the Norwegian Capital beautifully located by the fjord. Admire the view from the Opera house. Vigeland Park, one of the major Scandinavian cultural treasures, will delight you with sculptures by Gustav Vigeland, who dedicated his life to his artistic works. Pass by the Royal Palace and the main street, Karl Johan. The tour ends at your hotel. Evening at leisure. 2nd overnight in Oslo at the Grand Hotel Oslo or similar.

Optional Kon-Tiki and Fram Museum excursion: two separate museums located in Oslo, Norway, both dedicated to maritime history and exploration. The Kon-Tiki Museum is dedicated to the famous Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl and his expeditions. The Fram Museum is dedicated to the polar exploration vessel Fram, which was used by Norwegian explorers Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup, and Roald Amundsen in their expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic regions during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Both museums offer unique insights into the world of exploration and are must-visit attractions for history enthusiasts and anyone interested in maritime adventures. Includes coach transport, entrance fees and local guide. Duration 2hrs. 

Day 9 Oslo - Stockholm: City Walk

Today we head for Stockholm, passing through Norwegian forests and crossing the border, into the Swedish farm county of Varmland. Lunch in Karlstad, located by Lake Vänern. Afternoon arrival in Stockholm. Join your Tour Leader for a walking tour of the Swedish Capital. Accommodation in Stockholm for 2 nights at the Sparrow Hotel or similar. 

Day 10 Stockholm: City Sightseeing and Optional Vasa Museum

Stockholm, also called Beauty on the Water, is undoubtedly one of the loveliest capitals in the world. Built on 14 islands, connected by 57 bridges, it is protected from the sea by Skärgården archipelago. Morning sightseeing takes us to the Old Town "Gamla Stan" with its Cathedral and Stortorget and includes a drive to Fjallgatan where you will enjoy picturesque views of Stockholm. Afternoon at leisure.

Optional privately guided visit to the Vasa Museum. See remains of the intact 17thC warship Vasa, one of the world's largest Viking ships and pride of the mighty Swedish navy. The Museum is built around the vessel which sank in Stockholm's inner harbour on her maiden voyage in 1628. Its discovery in 1956 and subsequent salvage in 1961, are two of the most important events in marine archaeology. Painstakingly restored to its original magnificence, the Vasa represents an authentic piece of living history. Includes museum entry and private tour guide. Duration 1.5hrs.

2nd overnight in Stockholm at the Sparrow Hotel or similar. 

Day 11 Stockholm Departure

Following breakfast, your tour concludes with shared transfer to Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
