Make your own way to the Copenhagen airport for your flight to the Faroe Islands. On arrival into Vágar airport you will be transferred to your accommodation in Tórshavn where you will stay for seven nights. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Travel by bus on a guided sightseeing tour to the villages of Toftir and Norðagøta. On the way from Tórshavn, you pass the old whale station at Áir and continue over the bridge that connects Streymoy and Eysturoy. In Toftir, visit the beautiful Fríðrik church and the shop Navia where it is possible to buy Faroese knitting goods. Then continue to the windmills á Nesi and the village of Gøta, before returning to Tórshavn.
Today you will travel by bus on a guided tour to the villages of Viðareiði, Klaksvík, Gjógv and Tjørnuvík. From Leirvík you drive through the sub-sea tunnel, decorated by local artist Tróndur Patursson. From Klaksvík you will explore Viðareiði, the northernmost settlement in the Faroe Islands. Tour continues to scenic Gjógv, known for its unique natural harbour. Last stop is in Tjørnuvík to enjoy the view of the rock formations the Giant and the Witch. Packed lunch is included.
A day of fairytales, food and folklore. Take the ferry from Tórshavn to the island of Nólsoy. Enjoy a guided stroll through the village and hear stories about the local heroes, tales of pirates and the myth about the Scottish princess who once lived here, it is true because you can still see the old settlement. Or perhaps on your own, you might like to hike to the top of the island for the most beautiful panoramic views of Tórshavn and the nearby islands.
Today, if you are travelling Sep-Oct and April enjoy a guided tour by bus to the villages of Kvívík, Hvalvík and Vestmanna. The village of Vestmanna is best known for its steep cliffs and is the home to thousands of sea birds, including puffins,razorbills and fulmars during the summer months. Or if you are travelling Nov-Mar enjoy a guided tour to Kirkjubøur which is located on the south west coast of Streymoy and offers a stunning view of the islands of Hestur and Koltur. In the Middle Ages, it was the Faroese Episcopal See, which made it the country's spiritual and cultural hub. Here you will see the enigmatic Magnus Cathedral, built around the year 1300, St. Olaf's Church and the estate farmhouse (Roystovan).
Sightseeing with bus and guide to the villages of Fuglafjørð and Elduvík. Fuglafjørður is a busy place where a steady traffic of local and foreign boats gives life and colour, note the rust-red sculptures and do visit the Arts and Crafts centre, Ribarhús & Piddasahandil located in an old historic building. After a beautiful drive, you reach the small village Elduvík. Here you visit the amazing canyon that is unknown to most.
Day at leisure to explore Tórshavn. Perhaps visit the Art Museum where you will be able to see how extensively the Faroese nature and landscape has influenced the Faroese artists through the years. Or perhaps take an optional guided walking tour in Tórshavn.
Transfer to Vágar airport for your return flight to Copenhagen. On arrival at Copenhagen airport, your tour arrangements end.
You can also take the tour from/to Reykjavik, Bergen, Edinburgh and Billund, however if so days of departure, excursions and prices may alter.
