Travel by bus to the islands of Streymoy, Eysturoy, Vágar, Borðoy and Kunoy. Visit the picturesque villages of Gjógv, Saksun, Bøur and Gásadalur. Highlights include the capital, Tórshavn and it's Old Town, a boat trip to Vestmanna birdcliffs, Kirkjubøur cultural centre visit, a cruise on Lake Sørvágsvatn and a stop at Bøsdalafossur.
Make your own way to Copenhagen Airport for your flight to the Faroe Islands. On arrival at Vágar Airport, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. The afternoon sightseeing tour includes a visit to Old Town, Fort Skansin, Tinganes Parliament area and Kirkjubøur cultural centre. Here, you can visit Roykstovan which dates back to 1050AD, St. Magnus Cathedral (1300s) and St. Olav's Church (1200AD) is the oldest in the Faroe Islands. Dinner at a local restaurant in Torshavn. Spend the next two nights in Tórshavn.
Travel by bus to Vestmanna village and board a boat that will take you on a two hour cruise to the towering birdcliffs. Listen to the silence of the caves and be overwhelmed by the thousands of birds living here. Following your voyage, enjoy a buffet lunch before returning to Tórshavn. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Dinner at Restaurant Katrina Christiansen.
This morning we visit við Air whaling station, as well as Saksun village and Duvugardur Museum. After crossing the Atlantic Bridge, continue past Eiði and the impressive 'Giant and the Witch' rock formation. The Faroe Islands' highest mountain, Slaettaratindur (882m), can be also seen before our arrival in Gjógv, a small village known for its unique natural harbour. Dinner and two nights at your guesthouse in Gjógv.
Today, we head north to the islands of Borðoy and Kunoy. We pay a visit to the village museum in Nes, before travelling through the sub-sea tunnel to the island of Borðoy. Here, enjoy a short sightseeing tour in Klaksvik, the Faroe Islands second largest town. Continue on to Kunoy island for a short visit, before returning to Gjógv.
Travel by bus back through Eysturoy and Streymoy before arriving on Vágar island. After check-in at your hotel, it is time to explore this beautiful island. Visit Barbara's house (Kalvalid), the War Museum, Sandavagur's beautiful church and the small villages of Bour and Gasadalur. Enjoy a boat trip on Lake Sørvágsvatn which stops near Bossdalafossur waterfall. Dinner and overnight in Vágar.
Today we meet a local a farmer in the village of Bøur who will tell us about his life on the islands and his village. Enjoy a delicious lunch at cosy Café Fjørðoy in Sørvágur. After lunch, it is time to head to the airport for your return flight to Copenhagen, where your arrangements will end upon arrival.
