Let the nature of Lapland enchant you while you experience unforgettable adventures, Aurora hunting and the dazzling beauty of the northern sky from your cosy glass roofed Aurora Cabin at Northern Lights Village, Saariselka.

Itinerary

Day 1 Ivalo Arrival - Saariselka

Transfer from Ivalo airport to the Northern Lights Village, located approximately 30 minutes away in Saariselka. Check in to your warm Aurora Cabin with private facilities for three nights. The laser heated glass roof looks up to the Northern sky, a perfect way to search for the Northern lights whilst laying warm and snug in your bed. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Day Excursion + Northern Lights Hunt on the Border

Breakfast at the village and choice of day excursion: Husky Farm & Ride - a guided 4km ride through the forest, dogs pulling a wagon, followed by warm berry juice in a Kota OR Siida Museum - day trip to Inari with lunch & guided tour of the Sami Siida Museum.

Dinner at the village. Evening Northern Lights Hunt by bus. Drive through the silent village of Ivalo and the tiny Nellim, continue to the Paatsjoki River bridge. Make a fire under the open sky and hope the Northern Lights flare up.

Day 3 Day Excursion + Northern Lights Hunt by the Lake

Breakfast at the village and choice of day excursion: National Park Hike and picnic with a wilderness guide OR Guided Tankavaara Gold Panning with lunch OR Day Trip to Nellim, the meeting point of Eastern, Western and Northern cultures with lunch at the Nellim Wilderness Hotel.

Dinner at the village. This evening you depart on an unforgettable adventure – if you are in luck, the Northern Lights may appear at the Aurora Camp, on the shore of a picturesque lake. The Aurora Chasing excursion is by bus. On the way, stop at the rugged Lake Inari, then continue on to the Aurora Camp on the shore of the lake. Warm up in a cosy hut by the fire, enjoy a warming drink and a traditional Lapland midnight snack while waiting for the Northern Lights to appear. 

Day 4 Saariselka - Ivalo Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Ivalo airport and end of arrangements.
