Rovaniemi has a lot to offer in winter time. This trip offers accommodation in a cosy Classic Cabin at the Santa Claus Holiday Village. Winter activities are all included, hunting for the Northern Lights, an electric snowmobile safari, and a husky safari, as well as airport transfers, and daily breakfast and dinner.

Day 1 Rovaniemi Arrival - Santa Claus Holiday Village

On arrival in Rovaniemi transfer to your hotel. The resort is located 8kms from Rovaniemi city centre and is just a two minute walk from the Santa Claus Village. Four nights accommodation in a Classic Cottage. All cottages have one double/twin bed and a sofa bed, private bathroom facilities, a sauna, kitchenette and terrace and can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children per cottage. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel is included each night.

Day 2 Rovaniemi Electric Snowmobile Safari

Breakfast at the resort, then some free time before you get ready for your early afternoon Electric Snowmobile Safari. After safety and driving instructions, the journey begins across the frozen lake Lehtojärvi and continues through the snowy forests. En route we stop at a cabin, where you can warm yourself by the fire, and enjoy some hot juice, sausages and cookies. Then we head back as the daylight fades and stars begin to light up the Northern sky. Two persons share each snowmobile and all drivers must hold an unrestricted drivers licence. Dinner and second overnight at the resort.

Day 3 Rovaniemi Husky Safari

After breakfast, transfer to the local husky farm for an exciting and fun Husky Safari! The friendly barking of the excited huskies welcomes you and after a brief lesson, it's time to head off - as soon as the dogs start running, all you will hear is the swish of the sled runners, as you glide quietly across the snow. Stop for a break and a hot drink and the chance to switch drivers. On your return to the Husky Farm enjoy some hot juice around an open fire and listen to the "head musher" tell some stories about these amazing dogs. Two persons share each sled and children travel in a large sleigh pulled by the guide and the safari duration is 2.5 hours (sledding time about 1.15 hours). Then transfer back to the villagefor dinner and your 3rd overnight.

Day 4 Rovaniemi Day at Leisure and Evening Hunt for the Northern Lights

Breakfast at the resort then a day at leisure. Perhaps visit Santa at his nearby village just a few minutes walk away, explore the town, browse the shops or perhaps visit the fabulous Arktikum Museum. Or join one of the great optional excursions available - these include a visit to Ranua Wildlife Park, a Reindeer Safari to Santa's Village, snowshoeing, more snowmobiling or dog sledding and ice fishing. Dinner at the resort before your evening excursion, a Search For the Northern Lights. Transfer by car or minibus into the wilderness, then walk down to the river, away from any light pollution, to one of the best spots to observe the Northern sky. Look up into the night sky for the elusive Aurora which may appear! While enjoying the peace of nature, fry sausages on the open fire, before a visit to the old building ‘Poro-Pekan Pirtti' where your hosts will welcome you, show you their historic dwelling and tell tales of the past. Then return to the village for your 4th overnight.
