Travel from the fjords of Norway to fascinating Stockholm. Cruise to the Medieval Baltics, vibrant Helsinki and by train to historic Russia.


Day 1 Bergen Arrival

Welcome to The Kingdom of Norway – a country with the most beautiful fjords on Earth. Arrival in Bergen and transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Perhaps time for an optional activity such as Visit the Magic Ice Bar. Welcome meeting. Overnight at Hotel Augustin or similar.

Day 2 Bergen

Discover Bergen, gateway to the fjords of Norway. As a UNESCO World Heritage City, Bergen has the ideal mix of nature, culture and exciting urban life, all year around. After breakfast, meet your local guide at the reception of your hotel and enjoy a walking tour of the city. Pass through the Hanseatic Bryggen, with the St Mary's Church, Haakon Fortress and the famous Fish and Flower Markets. Afternoon at leisure - perhaps add an optional activity such as the afternoon Bergen Food tour or evening Sightseeing Cruise with light dinner. Second overnight at Hotel Augustin Hotel or similar.

Day 3 Bergen - Sognefjord - Balestrand by Ferry

Morning walk to the Bergen port where you will embark on a ferry to Balestrand. Enjoy the views of Sognefjord - King of Fjords. Midday arrival in Balestrand. Short walk from port to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Kvikne's Hotel or similar.

Day 4 Sognefjord - Fjaerland Glacier Day

After breakfast, depart on a full day excursion to Fjaerland, including Boyabreen, Supphellebreen and a visit to the Norwegian Glacier Museum. Cruise through beautiful Fjaerland fjord with amazing views of steep mountains, green fjords and vibrant landscapea. Arrive at Fjaerland where the glacier meets the fjord. Shuttle bus transfer to the Norwegian Glacier Museum (entry included). Continue by coach to the two glaciers - Supphellebreen and Boyabreen - before returning on the coach to Fjaerland and on to Balestrand by boat. Second dinner and overnight at Kvikne's Hotel or similar.

Day 5 Balestrand - Norway in a Nutshell - Oslo

Midday departure by ferry along the Sognefjord and Aurlandsfjord to Flam, where you will have some free time to discover this beautiful village. Afternoon departure by train to Myrdal mountain railway station and junction. Board the famous Flamsbana, and travel on one of the steepest trainlines in the world. The train journey runs through fantastic nature, steep mountains, breathtaking waterfalls and tunnels between the mountain and the fjord. Late evening arrival into Oslo. Short walk from Oslo station to Clarion Hotel the Hub or similar.

Day 6 Oslo

Meet your local guide at the reception of the hotel late morning and depart on a City sightseeing tour by bus, including Frogner Park with Vigeland sculptures, the Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress. Time at leisure or optional Northern Lights Xperium® visit. Second overnight at Clarion Hotel the Hub or similar.

Day 7 Oslo - Stockholm by Train or Bus

Transfer to Oslo Central Station, for train or bus from Oslo to Stockholm. Arrival in Stockholm and transfer to your hotel. Stockholm is often referred to as Beauty on Water, or Venice of the North, as the city is built upon 14 islands. It is surrounded by Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. Grand public buildings, palaces, rich cultural history and museums tell her 700 year-old history beautifully. Overnight in Stockholm at Elite Palace Hotel or similar.

Day 8 Stockholm - Riga by Overnight Ferry

After breakfast, meet your tour leader and a local guide at the reception of your hotel and depart on a city sightseeing tour. Stockholm is built upon 14 islands, surrounded by Lake Malaren and the Baltic Sea. Visit Gamla Stan (Old Town), where you will be charmed by cobblestone streets, crooked but beautifully preserved buildings, see The Royal Palace, Vasa Museum, gothic churches and excellent cafés, bars, restaurants and Swedish design-ware shops. Afternoon transfer to Stockholm harbour and board your overnight ferry to Riga, outside cabin with private facilities

Day 9 Riga 

Breakfast on prior to disembarking in Riga. Welcome to Latvia and its magnificent capital city Riga, enriched by Art Nouveau buildings. On your city sightseeing tour visit Old Town and see Riga Castle, the Three Brothers, City Hall, the Brotherhood of Blackheads building, Sainte Marie Gothic Cathedral and the Freedom Monument. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight in the Radisson Blu Latvija Hotel or similar.

Day 10 Riga - Tallinn by Bus

After breakfast, depart by coach towards Tallinn; the capital city of Estonia. Arrival and afternoon city sightseeing tour. Tallinn represents a medieval enclave perched on top of a hill overlooking the Baltics. The old town is located in the heart of Tallinn. Admire the Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Toompea castle (home to the Estonian Parliament), The City Hall Square, St. Olaf and Niguliste churches. Overnight at the Sokos Viru Hotel or similar.

Day 11 Tallinn - Helsinki by ferry

Day at leisure in Tallinn. Transfer from hotel to Tallinn ferry terminal for afternoon departure on a short cruise from Tallinn to Helsinki. Transfer from Helsinki ferry terminal to hotel. Overnight at the Scandic Park Helsinki hotel or similar

Day 12 Helsinki

Morning city sightseeing tour of Helsinki. See Senaatintori, the Senate square; Kauppatori, the picturesque market square; Tuomio Cathedral, Uspenski Cathedral, Temppeliaukio Church (the Rock Church) and more. Afternoon at leisure and second overnight in Helsinki.

Day 13 Helsinki - St Petersburg by Train

After breakfast transfer to railway station and board the famous Allergo train to St. Petersburg. Transfer to Hotel Novotel St. Petersburg Centre or similar and remainder of the day at leisure. Optional afternoon River Boat Ride: see 35 bridges, rivers and canals of the historical centre (1 hour).

Day 14 St Petersburg City Sightseeing & Hermitage Museum

Morning city sightseeing tour - see the main avenue and one of the best-known streets in the city, the Nevsky Prospekt. Pass by the world-famous cathedrals; St. Isaacs Cathedral, Kazan Cathedral and Saviour of the Spilled Blood Cathedral. Next stop will be The Palace Square, with the magnificent Winter Palace. Visit the birthplace of the city, the Peter and Paul Fortress. Lunch in the Russian Vodka Room No1. and guided tour in Russian vodka museum with vodka tasting. Afternoon visit to the Hermitage museum of art and culture. The second-largest art museum in the world, it was founded in 1764 when Empress Catherine the Great acquired an impressive collection of paintings from the Berlin merchant Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky. Overnight in St. Petersburg. Optional evening Russian Folklore Show at Nikolaevsky Palace.

Day 15 St Petersburg: Peterhof & Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin)

Morning transfer to the river bank, for a 30 minute Hydrofoil ride to the spectacular Peterhof. Arrive at the berth of Peterhof Lower Park. Set in magnificent gardens, Peterhof is reminiscent of Versailles and was only used by royalty for State occasions. The pendulous chandeliers and paintings are originals. The gardens are dotted with fountains, charming pavilions and summer houses, including the Monplaisir, Peter's original villa with bright and airy galleries facing the sea. Lunch in a local restaurant. Continue your day with an excursion to Tsarskoye Selo, one of St. Petersburg's must-see attractions. The town of Pushkin, which surrounds the Tsarskoye Selo estates, is St. Petersburg's most charming suburb. Catherine's Palace, Rastrelli's enormous late-Baroque palace, with its seemingly endless rows of gilded atlantes, has some of the most extravagant interiors in Europe, including the world-famous Amber Room. Return to St. Petersburg in the afternoon and overnight. Optional evening Opera or Ballet show.

Day 16 St Petersburg - Moscow by Train

Private transfer to the Railway station where you will board the famous SAPSAN train to Moscow. Upon arrival, enjoy some lunch before boarding a bus for a half day sightseeing of the Russian Capital. Amongst others, you will see Red Square, The Cathedral of Christ the Savior, New Maiden Convent, Moscow State University campus and panorama platform on the Vorobiovy (Sparrow) Hills, Moscow boulevards, The Theatre Square with the Bolshoi Theatre and the Metropol hotel. Check in to President Hotel Moscow or similar after the sightseeing tour.

Day 17 Moscow: Red Square & Kremlin, Arbat Street walking & Metro tour

A day filled with Russian Culture starts with visiting Red Square and Kremlin; both UNESCO World Heritage sites. Lunch in the Red Square area. Continue with a private walking tour of Arbat, the oldest pedestrian zone and famous culture place of Moscow. Finish with a tour of the Moscow metro. Discover why the subway is recognised as the most beautiful in the world. Hear fascinating stories of secrets hidden underground and urban legends. Overnight in Moscow. Optional evening River Cruise on a flotilla yacht with dinner - 2.5hrs.

Day 18 Moscow: Optional Golden Ring Sergiev Posad or Tretyakov Gallery or Bunker 42

Day at leisure in Moscow or join an optional Golden Ring day tour to Trinity Monastery of St. Sergius – Sergiev Posad Monastery. The monastery is an active religious centre with a visible population of monks in residence. This mystical place is a window into the age-old belief system that has provided Russia with centuries of spiritual sustenance (6 hours). If you wish to stay in the city instead, add optional Tretyakov Gallery Visit (2 hours) or optional Bunker 42 Cold War museum (1 hour). Overnight in Moscow. 

Day 19 Moscow Departure

After breakfast transfer to Moscow airport and end of arrangements.
