Travel from Finland into Russia to explore these three great cities. This tour starts in Helsinki, Finland's charming small capital, then takes you into Russia to the beauty of Imperial St. Petersburg and magnificent Moscow.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Helsinki

On arrival into Helsinki, private transfer from the airport to your accommodation at the Hotel Radisson Blu Seaside or similar; check-in and early evening welcome meeting with your tour escort and fellow guests.

Day 2 Helsinki: City Sightseeing & Suomenlinna Fortress

Helsinki is truly located at the crossroads of Western and Eastern culture and this is reflected everywhere in the green and lively Finnish capital. The sightseeing tour takes us around the harbours, Senate Square, up central Mannerheim Street and by the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall, and the Sibelius Monument, for a visit at the famous Church-in the-Rock. Afternoon excursion to Suomenlinna Fortress, a cultural treasure whose construction was started in the 18th century and is located on an island. In the evening, you might like to enjoy an optional Finnish dinner at Restaurant Salve.

Day 3 Helsinki - St.Petersburg 

Continue eastbound to St. Petersburg. Shortly after crossing the border into Russia we drive through Vyborg.  Late afternoon arrival in St. Petersburg. Accommodation at Hotel Sokos Vasilievsky or similar.

Day 4 St. Petersburg: Imperial City Tour & Catherine's Palace and Amber Room

St. Petersburg is an amazing city. Its imperial palaces and museums enjoy worldwide fame, while the Neva River and the many canals have deservedly given the city the title, Venice of the North. During morning sightseeing, become acquainted with all the splendours of the city: the Peter-Paul Fortress, Winter Palace, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Church of the Bleeding Savior, the Nevsky Convent and more. Afternoon visit to Zarskoye Selo with the impressive Catherine's Palace and the Amber Room, which vanished during World War II and was restored for St. Petersburg's tri-centennial celebrations. Evening visit to Nikolaevsky Palace to seen an exciting traditional Russian folklore show, including some Russian drinks and snacks.

Day 5 St. Petersburg: Peterhof Palace & Hermitage Art Museum

Morning excursion to Peterhof Palace; an uncontested masterpiece of Peter the Great's time, with an impressive Grand Palace, Grand Cascade, Water Avenue and wonderful parks. Afternoon visit to the world-famous, treasure filled Hermitage Art Museum - a truly wonderful way to end your exploration of this magnificent city. Tonight, you might like to join the optional Russian dinner at Restaurant Pryanosti & Radosti.

Day 6 St. Petersburg - Moscow: Channel Cruise and Fast train to Moscow

Early morning guided channel cruise along St. Petersburg's famous waterways. Around noon, we transfer to the Railway Station and board the Sapsan high-speed train bound for Moscow, on a ride that takes us through endless Russian landscapes along the River Volga. Late afternoon arrival in Moscow; accommodation at Hotel Azimut Smolenskaya or similar.

Day 7 Moscow: Kremlin, Cathedrals, Metro & River Cruise

Moscow, the Mother of Russia, is a genuine Russian city with the Kremlin and its onion domed cathedrals. The dramatic changes over the last decade have made the city one of the most dynamic metropolis in the world. Morning sightseeing includes all the highlights of this vast city - Red Square with the Kremlin, Theatre Square with the Bolshoi Theatre, Sparrow Hills with Moscow University and the Kremlin grounds including one of the cathedrals. Afternoon visit to the famous Moscow Metro including the stations along the Ring Line, followed by a guided stroll along famous Arbat Street, is offered. Evening 'Moscow by Night' tour which and includes an unforgettable river cruise with the White Flotilla.

Day 8 Moscow: Sergiev Posad

Full day excursion to Sergiev Posad and visit to Trinity Lavra of St Sergius, the most important Russian monastery and the country's spiritual heart.

Day 9 Depart Moscow

Private transfer from hotel to the airport.
