Situated 200km north of the Arctic Circle is the famous Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden. Here you can now stay all year round in an Ice Suite – even in mid summer, under the Midnight Sun. Icehotel has created special suites, individually designed and sculpted by artists from all over the world, each unique and never created before. Experience a taste of the Arctic, without waiting for Winter!

Itinerary

Your tour arrangements include 1 night in “warm” and one in “cold” accommodation. If you are travelling in winter please see our Experience the Icehotel: Winter tour.

Day 1 Kiruna Arrival and Icehotel: Overnight in Warm Accommodation

On arrival make your own way to the Icehotel. Time at leisure. Tonight you will stay in “warm” accommodation, with a choice of apartments or hotel rooms available.

Day 2 Icehotel: Day at Leisure and Overnight in Ice Suite

Today explore the wonderful forest area that surrounds the hotel – the slightly hilly terrain is perfect for easy hiking or you can stroll through Europe's northernmost pine moors, where there are the remains of the Leppäkoski mine, dating back to the 1600's. Or enjoy fun on the nearby Torne River, where you can rent equipment and try water activities such as stand up paddle boarding, canoeing and river rafting.

Tonight you will stay in an Ice Suite. Each Suite holds a temperature of minus 5 to minus 8 degrees Celsius. Sleep surrounded by silence and wrapped in a thermal sleeping bag, on a comfy thick mattress, covered with reindeer skins, on a bed built from a block of ice. In the morning wake up to a cup of hot lingonberry juice served at your bedside.

You can choose from a Deluxe Suite or an Art Suite. The Deluxe Suite features a heated relaxation area directly connected to the bedroom and an en-suite bathroom. The Art Suites do not have bathrooms but changing rooms, toilets and saunas are right nearby in the warm section of the hotel.

Day 3 Kiruna Departure

This morning, wake up to a hot lingonberry juice in bed, before breakfast. Arrangements end today after breakfast.  Make your own way to Kiruna Airport or Train Station.

2023 departures: daily 16 April – 30 November
