Experience the festive enchantment of the Scandinavian Capitals as they transform into winter wonderlands adorned with sparkling lights, Christmas markets, and the scent of mulled wine drifting through the air. In Stockholm, wander through the Old Town's cobblestone streets aglow with traditional Swedish decorations. In Copenhagen, marvel at the Tivoli Gardens transformed into a magical Christmas village. Oslo offers a blend of urban sophistication and cosy Christmas traditions, with handmade crafts and delicious treats. The Gingerbread Town of Pepperkakebyen in Bergen is a charming annual holiday exhibition.


Day 1 Stockholm Arrival

Shared arrival transfer from Stockholm Airport to the hotel. Time at leisure in this wonderful city. A short welcome meeting will be held in the evening with your Tour Leader. Accommodation for two nights in Stockholm at the Haymarket by Scandic Hotel or similar.

Day 2 Stockholm: City Sightseeing and Optional Skansen Museum

This morning meet your guide and depart by private coach for a 4 hour city sightseeing tour of Stockholm. The city, built on 14 islands, connected by 57 bridges, embraces the unique character of 13th century Old Town with modern high-tech architecture. Stockholm is proudly called “Beauty on Water”. The sightseeing tour includes the chance for an outside view of the historically significant City Hall, the place of the Nobel festivities. Feel the medieval atmosphere of the Old Town “Gamla Stan”, with its Cathedral and Stortorget, where the Stockholm Blood Bath took place. The tour also includes a drive to Fjallgatan where you will enjoy picturesque views of Stockholm. The tour ends at the hotel. Afternoon is at leisure to explore. Step into a winter wonderland at Stockholm's Christmas markets, where the city comes alive with festive cheer and twinkling lights. Stroll through the historic Gamla Stan (Old Town) adorned with traditional Swedish decorations, as the scent of cinnamon and mulled wine fills the air. Optional Skansen Museum excursion: experience the timeless charm of Christmas at Skansen, Stockholm's open-air museum and zoo. As snow blankets the historic buildings and traditional farmsteads, Skansen transforms into a festive wonderland, transporting visitors back in time to Sweden's rich cultural heritage. Wander through the cobbled streets illuminated by flickering lanterns and glowing candles, and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of a bygone era. Discover artisan workshops showcasing age-old crafts, savor seasonal treats like glögg (mulled wine) and pepparkakor (gingerbread cookies), and witness captivating performances of folk music and dance. Day 3 Stockholm - Copenhagen by Train, Optional Tivoli Gardens

Morning transfer to Stockholm railway station for your train to Copenhagen. Embark on an enchanting journey from Stockholm to Copenhagen aboard a scenic train ride that traverses the picturesque landscapes of Sweden and Denmark. As the train departs from Stockholm, the urban bustle gives way to serene countryside vistas, where rolling hills and lush forests stretch as far as the eye can see. Marvel at the tranquil beauty of the Swedish countryside, dotted with charming villages and sparkling lakes glistening in the sunlight. As you cross the Øresund Bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark, feel a sense of anticipation build as you approach the vibrant city of Copenhagen. Optional evening Tivoli Gardens excursion: Experience the magic of the holiday season at Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen's beloved amusement park and cultural icon, transformed into a winter wonderland during Christmas time. Twinkling lights adorn every corner, casting a warm glow over the festive atmosphere. Wander through enchanting pathways lined with elaborately decorated Christmas trees, while the scent of roasted almonds fills the air. Delight in traditional Danish treats like æbleskiver (pancake balls) and gløgg (mulled wine), served at charming stalls throughout the park. Entertainment abounds with festive performances, including carol singers, ice skating shows, and heartwarming theatrical productions. Day 4 Copenhagen: City Sightseeing, Optional Royal Copenhagen Painting Workshop

Copenhagen, Scandinavia's largest and most lively city, is one of Europe's most romantic capitals with its old castles, churches, harbours and squares. The morning panoramic sightseeing tour begins by coach towards the City Hall Square where the famous pedestrian street “Stroeget” begins. Passing by Tivoli Gardens and onwards past the New Carlsberg Glyptotheque and the National Museum. Next, it is the Old Stock Exchange and the Naval Church. We drive past the Kings New Square, the home of the Royal Danish Theatre with the world-famous ballet, then through the old canal area, Nyhavn, with is picturesque houses and boats. We continue to the impressive Gefion Fountain and the Royal residence, Amalienborg Palace. Finally, we stop by the landmark of Copenhagen, the statue of the Little Mermaid. During the tour, you will also see Christiansborg Palace from the outside, as well as Rosenborg Castle. After the sightseeing, you will have the opportunity to partake in a Julefrokost, a cherished Danish tradition. This festive Christmas lunch, rich in cultural significance, promises an array of delectable dishes and spirited toasts, offering a true taste of Danish holiday celebrations. 

In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of Christmas in Copenhagen as the city comes alive with festive markets, each offering a unique blend of traditional charm and holiday cheer. Wander through the historic streets of Nyhavn adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations, where quaint stalls offer a treasure trove of handmade crafts, ornaments, and seasonal gifts. In the heart of the city, the Kongens Nytorv market dazzles with its grandeur, featuring an impressive Christmas tree surrounded by festive stalls offering an array of delights. From traditional Danish pastries to local handicrafts and artisanal goods, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Optional Royal Copenhagen Painting Workshop: a skilled painter will show you how to hand-paint intricate designs on fine porcelain. Known for its high-quality craftsmanship, the workshop is famous for its classic blue and white patterns, particularly the iconic Blue Fluted Plain design. The workshop is part of the larger Royal Copenhagen company, which has been producing exquisite porcelain since its founding in 1775. The skilled painter will assist to paint your own blue fluted or blue mega plate or cup which will be fired, glazed and ready after 4-6 weeks. Shipping is available upon request. Duration 2 hours.

Day 5 Copenhagen - Oslo by Overnight Ferry

Morning at leisure. Early afternoon departure for the wharf and embarkation on the overnight ferry to Oslo. Staying in an outside cabin with private facilities, buffet dinner and breakfast is also included. The ferry has bars, shops and more to enjoy.  

Day 6 Oslo Arrival: City Sightseeing, Optional Bærum Værk tour

Upon arrival in Oslo, experience a panoramic sightseeing tour of the Norwegian capital, beautifully situated by a fjord. You will enjoy the view from the Opera house, visit The Vigeland Park and pass the Royal Palace and the main street, Karl Johan. The tour ends at your hotel from where you will have the evening to further explore the Viking capital at your own pace. Oslo during Christmas transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations. The city hosts charming Christmas markets, where you can enjoy traditional Norwegian treats, handmade crafts, and warm drinks. Optional afternoon Bærum Værk tour: Bærum Værk transforms in a charming winter paradise during Christmas. This historic ironworks village, located just outside Oslo, is adorned with festive lights and decorations, creating a magical atmosphere. Traditional wooden buildings and cobblestone streets are illuminated, and the aroma of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts fills the air. You can explore a Christmas market featuring handcrafted goods, local delicacies, and seasonal treats. Day 7 Oslo: Holmenkollen visit

This morning, visit enchanting Holmenkollen. Embrace the crisp winter air as you explore this iconic destination, renowned for its stunning views and vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're witnessing the grandeur of the ski jump or immersing yourself in the beauty of the snowy landscape, Holmenkollen promises a memorable experience. The iconic ski jump is illuminated against the snowy backdrop, creates a magical atmosphere. You can enjoy snowboarding and sledding, or simply admire the panoramic views of Oslo. The area is adorned with Christmas lights and decorations, and the nearby Holmenkollen Ski Museum offers a warm retreat with its fascinating exhibits. Day 8 Oslo - Bergen by Train: City Walk

Shot walk from your hotel which is located adjacent to Oslo train station. The train ride from Oslo to Bergen is one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world. Spanning about seven hours, the route traverses breathtaking landscapes, including lush forests, serene lakes, dramatic fjords, and towering mountains. As the train climbs to the Hardangervidda plateau, you will be treated to panoramic views of Norway's stunning natural beauty. This journey offers a unique and unforgettable glimpse into the heart of the Norwegian countryside. Day 9 Bergen: Fjord Cruise

This morning enjoy a breathtaking journey through the narrow, picturesque Mostraumen strait. Departing from Bergen, the cruise navigates through the Osterfjord, showcasing dramatic cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and serene, deep blue waters. Along the way you will witness the stunning beauty of untouched nature and may spot local wildlife, such as seals and eagles. The highlight of the cruise is the close-up experience of waterfalls. This cruise is a perfect way to experience Norway's spectacular fjord landscapes in a short amount of time.

Afternoon at leisure. We suggest a self-paced visit to the Gingerbread Town (Pepperkakebyen), a charming annual holiday exhibition featuring an extensive and intricately detailed miniature city made entirely of gingerbread. Held only during the Christmas season, this festive event showcases a wide variety of gingerbread creations, including houses, landmarks, ships, and other imaginative structures crafted by local schools, businesses, and residents. Day 10 Bergen Departure

Following breakfast, your tour concludes with shared transfer to Bergen Airport.
