Aurora Village Ivalo, Finland © Aurora Village Ivalo

With three nights in a cosy Aurora Cabin, you can relax in bed and search the night sky through your panoramic glass roof. There’s no light pollution in this remote location, increasing your chance to spot the Northern Lights. You tour includes several excursions and experiences - a Reindeer Sled Ride, Snowmobiling, Husky Safari, Aurora Chase and more. A true taste of Lapland's best in winter.

Day 1 Ivalo Arrival

On arrival into Ivalo airport, transfer to Aurora Village Ivalo for 3 nights stay in a warm Aurora Glass Cabin with private facilities. Collect your thermal clothing rental. Dinner is served each night at the Aurora Village restaurant.

Days 2 - 3 Winter Activities

The next two days are filled with some amazing winter fun! Depending on your flight arrival time, you may have an excursion scheduled during the afternoon/evening of Day 1. Details of the activities are shown below. Breakfast is served each morning at the Aurora Village restaurant.

Aurora Chase: (choose ONE of the following, subject to availability): Aurora Sleigh Adventure OR Aurora Chase by Car OR Aurora Hunt by Snowmobile OR Aurora Chase on Showshoes.

Reindeer Activities: take a nice bag of lichen to feed the local reindeer. With a little patience they will eat from your hand. This is a good time to take photographs. Your reindeer sleigh will take you on a peaceful Winter adventure in a traditional ‘raito' form where the reindeer walk one after another each pulling a sleigh. Sit back and enjoy the 800m sleigh ride through the snowy forest.

Guided Snowmobiling: through the Arctic Winter forests across the frozen river while admiring the beauty of the Lappish nature. There are a couple of stops for taking amazing photos and chatting with your guide about life in Lapland. 2 persons share a snowmobile. Note: valid driver's license required.

Husky Safari: transfer to the nearby husky farm. You will be given instructions on how to control the husky sleds, which you will ride in pairs, one sitting in the sleigh and the other one mushing. Hot drinks at the half-way point and you may swap places before heading back.

Ice Karting: racing on ice and snow! Winter go-karts are fun to drive on icy track laid out in the forest near Aurora Village. The lap timing system will tell you your lap times on a break and you may want to ask your guide for tips on how to tackle the slippery corners. Drivers licence not required, minimum height 140cm (this activity will not proceed if it is -22°C or colder).
