Levin Iglut and winter activities in Finnish Lapland
Glass Igloos Levi, Finland © Levin Iglut

About 100km north of the Arctic Circle is Levi - Finland's largest ski resort and a great destination for exciting snow-based activities. Staying each night at Levin Iglut offers a chance to seek the elusive Aurora Borealis from the privacy of your own Glass Igloo at this exclusive property.

Itinerary

Day 1 Kittila Arrival - Levi

Arrive at Kittila Airport and private transfer to Levin Iglut for 3 nights in your very own Glass Igloo. The remainder of the day at leisure. Levin Iglut offers luxury next to the wilderness: a view of the rugged fell landscape and the northern sky and high-quality accommodation. The igloo hotel is located on the slope of a fell at a height of 340 metres, and the centre of Levi, one of the most popular holiday destinations in Lapland, is just 10 km away. The location and the unobstructed view of the northern sky from the slope makes Levin Iglut an ideal place for admiring the Northern Lights, should they appear. Dinner each evening is at Restaurant Utsu.

Day 2 Levi: Snowmobile Safari

Today enjoy a winter wonderland, by snowmobile. After receiving driving and safety instructions, it's time to head out into the unforgettable Lappish nature, through snowy forests and over frozen lakes. En route, take a break with a warming cup of berry juice. 2 persons share each snowmobile. The remainder of the day is at leisure - simply relax amidst the surroundings or add an optional evening activity, such as Northern Lights Hunt by Snowmobile or Snowshoes, or evening Snow Village Lainio visit (day/date dependent).

Day 3 Levi: Husky Safari or Reindeer Safari

Transfer to a husky or reindeer farm (day/date dependent). At the husky farm, you will be instructed on how to handle your own dog sled and team before travelling out into Lapland's majestic nature. After the ride, enjoy hot berry juice by an open fire to round out a truly memorable experience. OR... At the reindeer farm, meet these wonderful Arctic animals. The reindeer herder will then sit you snugly in the sleigh before you depart on a traditional nature ride. Afterwards, enjoy a cup of coffee with a small snack, while listening to stories about these amazing creatures.
